Yes Wow! ( I think we should probably change his name to Wow because that's what everyone says - many times - whenever he sings!🤣) You are Soooo right about 'Galactic'! Not only is he the best Vocalist on the planet, but he has an actual Star named after him - swinging around somewhere out in the Andromeda Galaxy. Dimash performed - many times on the Chinese 'Singer' competition in 2017 and blew everyone away. {# You should check out these earlier performances before coming forward in time to see his more recent work) . From the very first few notes of his first song everyone knew who was the Winner and he had an instant fan base of many millions, (This was the first time he had to have security to step outside his hotel room) BUT at the end of the show the Producers gave First prize to someone else! Their 'Twitter World' {WEIBO?} went completely crazy with millions of furious fan and fell over. The producers then came out to say they 'couldn't' give 1st to him because he wasn't a Chinese Citizen & that they'd only invited him on as a courtesy to their Kazakh neighbours not thinking he would even get near the top. (Clearly someone on the show hadn't done their homework because he'd already won every song competition he;d ever entered before this). Anyway, this 'explanation' just made all his fans even MORE angry and quickly both countries leadership got together and awarded Dimash a newly created title: "Kazakh - Chinese Cultural Ambassador" . For those who like information about Dimas' songs: Sinful Passion - The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio (Russian-based Kazakhstani pop music group, "Alma-Ata Studio", city of Almaty). Thank you for discovering Dimash and welcome to a beautiful world of music. Dimash is a 28-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He has his own company „DimashAli Creative Center“ and is managed by his father Kanat. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize your so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview he trains every day at least 3 hours and he swims under water very often to increase his lung capacity. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄. 23 seconds in one breath with riffs and runs. Unbelievable. Btw he didn‘t won the Voice. He became second in The Singer competition in China 2017, because of not being a Chinese. He sang this song on the New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2018. This is an international contest for young performers founded by Igor Krutoy in 2002. Dimash sang here as a guest. This song was in Russian, a language he speaks fluently. The gentleman at the end you see standing and clapping is the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. As for the flowers, it's a cultural thing. It has something to do with respect for the artist. The audience listens to a performance without yelling or screaming that the artist can no longer be heard. No sound should be missed. In return, they then shower Dimash with flowers and gifts. He always donates the flowers to hospitals, retirement homes or similar institutions. a If possible, always watch the videos to the end. Very often there are interesting things to learn. Either there’s something to laugh about, or he’s talking to his audience. He always thanks his musicians. He is incredibly humble and never acts like a star. When he is praised, he constantly says that it is thanks to his teachers and his parents, who made it all possible for him. He’s just incredible. In this case he thanked the band A-Studio. It’s a Kazakh band who wrote this song. However, Dimash sang it differently. And in my opinion, much better 😄. I specifically like Love of Tired Swans and Olimpico in addition to this song. Dimash is such a good talent that if you was to close your eyes and listen to one of his performances, you would not expect to see the person on stage, for instance. You close your eyes and listed to Olimpico, and dead set you will think you are listening to an italian tennor, then you open your eyes and see Dimash and your shocked. Also most of his live stages put other performances to shame. His digital concerts the stage effects are just on another level entirely. When you watch Love of Tired Swans if you watch the right live performance it looks like the wings animation is comming out of his back. Other stages looks like he is under water for other songs.
