All true. I worked with a sound company years ago. And we had our system on the main stage. George was the headliner. First off his head engineer came in made us fire up ,and play some music thru our system. (All proprietary cabinets , and QSC amps ) He says “speakers sound great we’ll talk about ya building me a set later. But those amps sound like they’ve been drug thru horse manure !!” “Unplug that crap ,and I’ll have the guys roll in some amp racks .” They proceeded to unpack two double racks of 1970’s hand built Macintosh amps . It sounded amazing .. Show time rolls around ,and George is smashed .. Can hardly stand not to mention walk. So 3 guys go over to him (like they did it every day) ,and he slaps his arms around their shoulders as they proceed to half carry him up the stairs to the mic. The third in tow with guitar in hand. Third guy hangs the guitar around his neck , and like someone hit a switch George turns to the mic steady , and sober as the three walk off stage. He didn’t miss a note , didn’t slur , didn’t weave , or bob, or anything thru the entire show !! I’ve never seen anything like it before or since.

I don't know why anyone would do drugs when they could just mow the lawn.

If that's all you have to do then it's golden for sure. But if you woke forty plus hours then you send the eldest out to get it done.

You know, I did a lot of drugs in my younger days, but mowing the grass and taking care of my property is a much better feeling than any of that stuff.

They'll just put down the tools if they wanna do the drugs bad enough

Jim Carrey could play this guy in a heartbeat 😂

What I’m saying. Would be his first actually serious role, and as great as Mike Shannon did (he killed it), Jim Carrey is a spitting image of the The Possum. Especially with that crew cut from when George was younger 😂😂

I guess everyone is familiar with the term "yarling". If not it's the vocal style that many rock bands adopted in the 90s. Bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam. Alice in Chains and my least favorite, Creed. I know how they picked that style up but I wouldn't be surprised if it's roots are in the vocals of George Jones.
