Hi Mark, a nice job done on the underfloor heating, I have never done a great deal of work with underfloor heating, so it’s all very interesting to me. Yep as the colder weather arrives the central heating calls will start to come in. Have a great week and as always take care mate. 👍👍👍

I always tell people to run their central heating for a half an hour at least once a month in the summer. The little bit of fuel used is more than offset by not having to have a call out to fix a stuck pump or diverter valve.

Hello, nice informative video. Could you help with our situation with HeatMiser system - all UFH went cold couple days back though boiler works for hot tap water/radiators.
@MJTiffPlumbing7 күн бұрын
Will be an issue at the UFH manifold, zone valve gone or pump issue

Another great video great learnings 👍What thermal imaging camera would you recommend I’ve seen you use a few from the trigger one to the phone shaped one. Which is better I don’t want to spend huge amounts but need something to pick up underfloor heating ideally. Any help would be greatly appreciated

So I do a lot of underfloor heating and new builds with heat pumps. No actuators, blending valves and pumps mark. A lot more simple but design is important. Your right thou you should explain everything to the customer
@MJTiffPlumbing3 ай бұрын
How does it regulate rooms temps then??
@davidprendergast82317 күн бұрын
@@MJTiffPlumbing calculate the heat loss of each of the rooms and dial in the flow rate of the loops to basically only replace what is lost. It's called an open loop system and basically runs like a central heating system where it all come on together but as this chap said the design and calculations are critical to avoid over or under heating different areas. It works best with the ashp working on a weather compensation curve which will match the flow temp to maintain the correct delta T in relation to flow temp.

In 2001 we had an extension built on our house and I fitted UFH to the new areas. It was a fun job laying the pipework on top of the insulated concrete and the nuikder then screeded the floor over the tubes. It was the cosiest area of the house, 2 zones lounge/kitchen and a spar room. Toasty because the new extension was properly insulated too. We've moved since and just have radiators fed by a pellet burning stove boiler- fine when it works, but the boiler needs the soot cleaning out of the insides far too often, really poor design and I would never do it again

So do you prefer the underfloor system??

Can you do a video, on a fault on underfloor heating, where the hot water from the boiler goes to the manifold, and it does not really go anywhere at the pump stage of the manifold. Ie the pump in the first step of the manifold, our hot water from boiler goes to this point, and does not seem to go any further, it just stops at that pump on the manifold, so the rooms are not getting warm. If you understand what i just wrote, is it possible you can do a video on how to fix this Ie what is the fault, would it be the pump you need to replace on manifold, or would there be sludge in that part or something blocking the hot water from boiler being pumped into the underfloor heating. You do great vids, just wondering if you can do a video on what you think this is and how to fix it.
@MJTiffPlumbingАй бұрын
Sounds like a pump issue as it’s stopping there
@davidprendergast82317 күн бұрын
Most likely the blending valve not the pump. If your flow and return primaries are roasting but the top of the pump outlet to the manifold is tepid and flow rates are very low, it's most likely the blending valve if it's anything to do with the pump assembly. The water is coming to the blending valve on the flow and the majority of the flow is going straight back on the return because it's not letting it through the pump elbow, that's why the flow and return ends up being basically the same temperature. Either that or you have an airlock either in the primary pipework, the manifold /UFH pipework or in the pump itself. Most of these issues can be resolved by flushing the circuits through one by one with a garden hose and mains pressure and purging the rest of the system as normal. You may also have low pressure so check the boiler pressure and the expansion vessel too.

We use Heatmiser neo with our customers. They can control the system from anywhere in the world and more importantly we can see what it’s up to! An example is a customer who travels extensively and if he gets delayed or changes his plans he alters the heating accordingly. Saves a fortune in oil!

How many actuators can be wired into a single zone? I have in floor that is "zones on pump".... but am doing a home addition that I would like to simplify and have zones on actuators and haven't really found how many actuators can be on a single zone with most controllers.
@MJTiffPlumbing14 күн бұрын
You can attach as many as possible into one zone if you need to👍🏼
