This was the first nano hexacopter on the market, and remains the smallest, and it has started a huge trend of small hexacopters.
Enjoy!

I found a hex that is even smaller and has the fastest yaw that I have ever seen of any aircraft yet! It is the Fayee Navigator hex Fy805. You need to get it, Ryan! You will love this thing--and it comes in GREEN!! The LEDs are awesome too. I have over 70 quads, Helis, and hexes, and this is one of my favorites. -copter girl.

It seems like a nice enough little machine. In a way it almost reminds me of a smallish racing hex that Team Black Sheep had shown once on Flight Test.

That's a great hex! One of my favorite one's! This is a X901 and are a little bit rare, the x900 has another controller (much smaller, a regular nano kind of). It's the same hex off course.. From the beginning all x900 got this package with a "big" control but i guess that it was to expensive to give away a gyro control with a nano hex. This controller comes by default only with x800 i guess.. :-)
@theimacman
@theimacman 8 жыл бұрын
+Peter Samuelsson I think the X901 is the new one with the smaller transmitter. And, yeah, this controller also comes with the X800. And the X600 or X300C transmitters also work. So, there are like 3 different transmitters that you can use with all the current MJX models.

Nice review :D You got the X900, I got the X901. Mine (with the nano tx) flew away and didn't stop my first outdoor flight. I got gearbest to send me a new one though. If flying out doors it really needs to be paired with the larger transmitters. I think the H20 is the best flying hex I have tested so far however that one recently flew away and didn't stop too...
@theimacman
@theimacman 8 жыл бұрын
+The RCAddict Really!? That's so weird... I have the H20 too (agree, it flies great), and I tested both these hexs for fly-aways, by turning off the transmitter, and they both shut down the motors after a couple seconds. Seems like maybe you aren't *losing* signal, but maybe having the signal taken over by a nearby WiFi or something possibly?
@TheRCAddict
@TheRCAddict 8 жыл бұрын
Flyin' Ryan RC That test is not accurate. Losing signal in a flyaway is different then turning off the TX. They do start to come down but are way ove the forest by then.
@theimacman
@theimacman 8 жыл бұрын
The RCAddict I'm not sure how that's not accurate. That is the common method people use to test signal loss...
@TheRCAddict
@TheRCAddict 8 жыл бұрын
Flyin' Ryan RC My flyaways prove it is different, as do many others. When you turn off the tx it is completley losing the pulses from the TX which I think when it goes out of range it still picks up n some, however not enough to control by, and keeps going until it gets enough to be controlled again (I think). As soon as it starts to fly away you (anyone) needs to shut the TX off immeadiatley as it will still be a few seconds after that till it goes down. They should set it to cut right away but the (stupid) companies have it go for 2-5 more seconds which is plenty of time for them to get way to far to find or save.

I'm not liking the rate change being on the same slider as OFF. It would be so easy to switch the TX off whilst coming back down the rates.
@theimacman
@theimacman 8 жыл бұрын

Nice review Ryan, and yes, the body style and color give it a great look. On the orientation issue, I know you are not a fan of headless mode and I'm not trying to start a debate, but for those of us with lesser flying skills, that feature is handy to bail out of a close call. Maybe would help this copter when LEDs are not easily seen.
@Tryinglittleleg
@Tryinglittleleg 8 жыл бұрын
Mmm true but I am a big fan of non headless mode
@steverc8
@steverc8 8 жыл бұрын
I can see how headless mode can "weaken" flying skills, none of my current quads have it. It's a cool feeling to learn to figure 8, maneuvering through by combining forward pitch and yaw.
@theimacman
@theimacman 8 жыл бұрын
+Steve RC Have you actually been able to use headless mode that way though? I can understand your idea, in theory, but in my experience, headless mode is so absolutely unreliable that you simply can't trust it. You may turn it on, and slam the stick back, trying to get it to come back, but headless mode may think back could be anywhere, so you really have no idea what direction it will actually move with each stick movement, making the confusion even greater. heh
@steverc8
@steverc8 8 жыл бұрын
I had one quad with it Ryan, the Eachine H8, but never really got to use it. A motor froze on first flight, since quads don't fly on 3, I returned to Amazon for credit, not replacement. But also, I saw Nate commenting the headless mode on that model was unreliable. I noticed Nate getting some great shots of wheeled RC from a quad, Nate's definitely got the skill to maneuver and video from that POV w/o headless. I can see how headless mode would make a camera platform a bit easier for someone like me.
@steverc8
@steverc8 8 жыл бұрын
PS Hope I don't sound like I'm bagging on Nate, instead hoping it sounds like quoting a reliable source.

hexacopter vs. quadcopter. who is better?
@mrmurphy172
@mrmurphy172 8 жыл бұрын
Again, great review Ryan. I have to wonder why they are making micro or nano hexacopter to begin with. I have always been of the opinion that unless you are looking to carry a big payload ie. DSLR camera, the extra arms and motors are killing efficiency. I would think that to get any true hexacopter benefit, it needs to be at least 350 sized. For the novelty though, its cute.
@theimacman
@theimacman 8 жыл бұрын
+Paul C. Reilly My thoughts exactly! And, nano/micro hexs have absolutely blown up lately! It has to be entirely about the novelty and appearance of them, because there are definitely a lot of drawbacks to these, over quads this size.
@steverc8
@steverc8 8 жыл бұрын
+Paul C. Reilly 's Good question Paul, can't be much profit on a $19 copter. Unless production, start to finish, is fully automated, including packaging and there's a ton of volume.

@theimacman
@theimacman 8 жыл бұрын
+themainman "Better" in what way? Hexacopters have more power, so they are generally used in bigger camera platforms, for like professional use on movies and TV shows. Quadcopters are more efficient, though, and easier to keep orientation with.

I always wonder if the remote controls for these things are just recycled from some other project that never made it to manufacturing or something. That would explain the poor designs and lack of thought into how comfortable and practical the controller is.
@theimacman
@theimacman 8 жыл бұрын
+FuManBoobs Well, I think the base designs are just reused from video games, etc. That way the manufacturing plants don't have to create entirely new molds.
