Mk 7 Fiesta ST LSD Installation (In my kitchen)

I've got my 2014 FiST trans on the workbench as we speak. Had a bear of a time locating the diff bearings and the output shaft roller bearing. Just got them in yesterday, from France, no less! Replacing clutch & flywheel as well. Still waiting on those parts to arrive. Thx for videos, again; have helped me along. Will be reassembling as soon as the parts arrive. Hoping for the best!

Im pretty sure you live in east Michigan from the other vids you've got. Can't tell if you're down river or north of Detroit. Anyways, I'm from there but live in Grand Rapids now. Just ordered the same diff. I'll bring you your favorite beer from west Michigan, and some $$$ if you help me with the install :)

Oh that's ok! Ended up having the dealership do it, but surprised that they only charged me $320 for the install.

Perrrrrfect video. So I've been searching hard to get my Kaaz put in and after seeing this I have a lot more confidence in installing it myself. I'll be watching for follow ups, I've got a race coming up in September in Iowa. If you're into rallycross you should consider swinging down that way to watch the Nationals! Hopefully I'll have my lsd installed in my ST.

Car is actively still being used in Russia, new owner is still in contact with me and has put a big turbo on the car and has been driving it for about 2 years without issues.

You can be lucky having the same preload with the same shims, but you can also be unlucky and ruin your bearings

Is this an IB5 gearbox? I'm wanting to install a quaife ATB in my focus mk 1 box. All of the other videos online that I can find seem to remove the differential from the other side, as in removing the 5th gear etc. The method that you're showing seems to be much simpler.👍

Yes he definitely should not have been using a metal object to knock it off, preferably something softer then the metal, rubber mallet or peice of wood pressed on it and hitting the wood with hammer .

Universal was only i could find!

Since its clutchless the fluid requirements are the same i was using bg synchro shift 2 and red line

I work for Ford. I dont recommend anything but their fluid. Seen several manuals fail, due to people trying to put in additives. Ford test their shit way more, than any other manufacturer. Put in what it calls for. No matter what you did.
