Cheers Rich. Gonna be interesting one for 2.5 marathons in 5 weeks time 😂

I look forward to watching one of your marathon videos when it all clicks into place and you get the result you deserve even if it’s just to run it pain free. But great effort after London - I also ran the marathon on Monday and agree the course was testing on different terrains and hills particularly those close to the stadium. But I live in MK so well used to the undulating Redways. Best wishes for the ultra.

Thanks Mark. Mate I’m looking forward to that day too 😂 they’ve all been so hard so far. Going back to the drawing board after the ultra. And yes, MK is sneakily hilly, not big hills but lots of little underpasses etc. all good fun though and hope you enjoyed the race too. Cheers

I can't believe you didn't do a sprint finish, Stevo. Where do I go to get my money back? 😂 That resilience will serve you well on the ultra. You just know it's going to be a massive suffer fest though don't you? 😅 I've got my 56km race on Sunday. Wish it would cool down a bit 🥵

I’m saving my sprint finish for the ultra 🤥😂. All the best for Sunday, Mark. Looks like a muggy weekend but you will smash it mate, I’ll keep a look out on strava 👍🏼

Im tired just thinking about 1 marathon. Let alone 2 in 2 weeks. Fair play 👊

Hi Steve I'd like to know what dictates your marathon pace your heart rate or just how you feel? I ask this because you state your heart rate was high at the beginning of the run. Did you dial down your speed because of this or did your rate of perceived exertion govern how you ran the rest of the race. Great effort just 2 weeks after London. What's next? Personally I think you should try something at the other end of the spectrum, like a 5K as I think you must have built up quite a sizeable aerobic base which will help you smash your PB with some threshold and interval training. Well done Steve.

Hiya, to be honest, we was planning on running slow and I thought my HR would be nice and low which it was for the first 14 miles (140 approx) but when I left Mike I tried to up the pace slightly and then the tiredness from London crept in and HR raised up. I was going by feel on this one but I caught up with me later on. I may look at some 5k time trials after the Ultra in June, I should have a good base up by then if I come through unscathed. I do let HR dictate me though on past races. Thanks
