Liu Kang is like... literally the chosen one and seemingly perfect except for maybe a bit of a temper. @@fangsabreAgreed! I honestly can’t believe how good of a job they did in giving personality to the characters in MK1. I either actively disliked or didn't care at all about like half MK11's cast, especially hating the special forces and I thought the ninjas were ultra generic and wooden. But in MK1 they have soooooo much more personality, primarily from significantly better writing but also helped by absolutely phenomenal voice actors (...outsude of Nitara :/) and surprisingly truly excellent facial animations. There's so many little details that I love too-- like how Johnny legitimately has a PhD in quantum mechanics and how in this video Kung Lao genuinely believes Raiden should like himself more and he clearly views Raiden as a true friend. Love what they've done with MK1-- they've even managed to give Liu Kang a bit of a personality which I thought impossible!

Johnny and Lao are those guys who will only brag about things they have knowingly accomplished and achieved. Specifically their martial arts prowess and status. Their flaw is that it takes a tragic event for them to become properly humbled. For Johnny it was Kenshi taking a attack from mileena to save him. For Lao it was ignoring Raiden's warning and almost causing Shujinko to go mad with power.
