How would I get it out of third gear it’s stuck but the shifter has free play up and down but not side to side

Youll have to manually go out to the trans and pull it out of gear. When it the shift tower moves free up/down youre in neutral

Would be similar, but best to have a bentley manual to refer to. There are differences between them.

How’d you remove the shifter base plate?

2 either 10mm screws or Philips screws (can’t remember) And the cir-clip on the shifter. Then the shifter slides out.

@@SmithsEuro that retaining clip on the shifter pops out when i go into reverse, i just stack more to keep it from doing that

Hey I just replaced all my shifter bushings and it won’t go into reverse once so ever what should I do to fix that?

Recheck everything, nothing obvious then I would say you probably didn’t keep it in alignment on the splined shaft. And you would have to reset it to the oem bentley settings in the book.

Hard to say without seeing it. Best bet is to grab a bentley manual and reset it to oem setting. Maybe someone messed something up in the adjustment before you got it. And its been an issue getting gears.

@@SmithsEuro I got it fixed I found out the issue in one of the books I have and after that it works fine and I was off by a couple teeth on the shaft

Its a squish type tension. Too loose and its sloppy, too tight and it wont move. Like the 3 bear’s story, gotta be just right.

@Smiths Euro Yeah, I kept tightening mine and checking for slop, then it broke in 2. But other than that mishap, the video was danm helpful. 👍🏼
