Yeah, i bought an 8j in early june, the 2.0 bpy version. The little light sprayers definitely surprised me and rhank you for sharing how to turn them off too! As far as design goes so far there are 2 things i really liked and 1 thing that anniys me. 1. I like howThe harmonic balancer or lower crankshaft pulley is fitted onto the engine by separate bolts. I found that a little easier and convenient when changing out the belt/water pump/tensioner/rollers. 2. I like where the fuel filter is located, it was much more convenient than the typical american car (although it seems like its a little more unsafe wjere it is at) The one thing i really dislike is how the air filter is mounted in the engine cover. Ifs very inconvient and when i change out to a cold air intake i wanted it to be able to stay on but i dont think thats possible without modding

1. the place that the battery is supposed to be in is actually reserved for the tt with manual transmission. Those cars need a master and slave cylinder to engage and disengage the clutch. 2. This car does not use quattro. Although it may be called quattro, it actually uses an haldex system that is used in VW vehicles. True quattro sends about 80% of the power to the rear wheels when needed which Haldex cannot do.

@AIDIOState3 жыл бұрын
The Quattro system is actually a Haldex Quattro....made by....err...Haldex. The Haldex system is only capable of putting 50% power to the rear wheels. This only occurs once the front begin to slip. This isn't an issue in snow ofc as it engages right away. Compared to a full Quattro system....which can put anywhere from =>5 to 90% power to the rears. So there's a distinction between Quattro and Haldex Quattro

Since every single one of these were common knowledge to literally anyone who deserves to own the car lol...here are a couple of things that atleast 10% of the people here might not know: 1) The VR6 learns if you drive like a granny. And let's face it ..sometimes you will be...even the Ken Block's out there. It does this by adjusting the throttle response. You can reset it( and definitely worth it before a spirited outing). To do the throttle reset( there are a few methods) Reset with no tools 1) When car is cold( i.e after overnight) put the key and turn to position 2 ( or just before the car would actually crank) 2) leave for 3mins. After this time the throttle position sensor has reset and will have adapted to default values( ie full throttle). 3) remove the key( don't start the car) 4) Insert key again and turn her over...you have full power( untill it happens again) Using vcds scan tool. 1) reset the throttle position sensor.
@JWL-UK2 жыл бұрын
Interesting! Does the same happen to other engine versions? I got a 2008 2.0.
@AIDIOState2 жыл бұрын
@@JWL-UK Yeah that is a standard procedure. Almost any car benefits from a throttle position sensor reset..every now and then. I think the effect is probably more noticeable in the VR6...but it should still work. Good luck... Happy full throttle 😎

@YogeshPatel96 жыл бұрын
it's actually pretty amazing in the snow - i live in Alberta and drive the car year round, outside of heavy snowfalls where clearance is an issue, the car handles better than most other cars on the road with a good set of winter tires. The quattro system will get you going on any road while the esc is clever and is monitoring everything you're doing, when you turn the wheel the car will make sure you make the turn by slowing down wheels to limit wheel slip. It's actually a pretty unique experience from other heavier cars with a less intuitive stability control. Just make sure you have a decent set of winters on and you'll be outperforming most vehicles on the road.
