Great video, I have a mk2 escort & I need to replace some of the bulbs on my dash which have stopped working. Do I need to disconnect the battery before I remove the instrument cluster?

yes, they are the same in my MK5. Just watch out which rpm gauge you get, it should say 4 cyl or 6 cyl on the bottom of it, get the one for your engine.

Hey quick question, what if I don’t have another temp gauge and want the one in the dash to work. Is it as simple as plugging it into where the blue and black cable came from.

Your Red(&white stripe) coolant temp wire from the small connector will need to be relocated to the large connector, positioned in between the Black (white stripe) wire and the brown(ground) wire. Hope that helps everyone else who has a factory setup! And apologies for the confusion :) Good Luck!!

Hey, I've got a MK2 as well with the sport cluster gauge swapped. My speedo seems to be offset by 30kph (it reads 70 when I'm at 100). Any ideas what it could be?

Rolling circumference(wheel/tyre size), or Diff ratio, or gear ratios(gearbox) :) Fair bit to chase there but all are important factors, your speedo (sport or ghia) will be calibrated from factory to the final drive and gearbox ratios, plenty of info online just have to do some digging Good luck!!
