MK3 Cortina LED lights

In this video I try out some AUXITO led front lamps plus reverse and stop tail. Initially I was not sure but ended up liking them. I found roadside signs and hazards better picked out. The tail lamps were a no brainer as were the reverse lights. Excellent results all round.

Lot of work put into this video very interesting. Though I have never looked at these types of lamps before.The measurment should be in lumens for light output. LED Input current should be much less than heat dissipating filament lamps. Some leds have modulating drivers to switch the Led above a frequency what the eye can perceive.That also improves efficiency but can introduce flicker if it fails or not designed correctly. LED the filament size has to e the same size and shape as filament to ensure the optics work correctly. That may be impossible at present due to heat dissipation required for led reliability. Finally LEDs are highly sensitive to input voltage unless they have inbuilt or external controller circuits. Just a few millivolts over spec will kill them.

It looks like LED lights does not strictly follow ohm's law. I don't know how these LED bulbs work, but maybe it is something similar to a LED diode. There might be a resister in them. Bringing the internal voltage and actual amperage down?

Used to have h1 hid kit on my volvo 850, were very good. Won't pass mot though. But brighter than halogen and had good beam. Used 35w dipped and 55w in the full beam. Which were good after initial warm up.

I wonder if the stated power of the LED bulbs are Tungsten-equivalents Watts? Actual 100W LED seems rather high.

P=IxV so 100w should draw 8.3A (@12v) which they ain’t so they ain’t 100W.

Osram make h1 led, but expensive.
