great vid, got this same car (with the super rare roofracks!) at 184.3k and indigo blue pearl. amazing car! Also my first car, and I absolutely adore it! The radio falling out is so real, I have a double din like yours and its just siting in there lmao.

WOW, the timing chains have lasted over 200K thus far on your 24v VR6?! Seriously? That is amazing! Are they making noises yet?
@ecgarage43842 жыл бұрын
Yeah for sure making noise, tension is surprising not terrible in vcds.
@CoreySchmick4443 жыл бұрын
Why do you put it in neutral after your run? And on a side note, I can't believe it has 210,000 miles and the chains and tensor is still solid, freaking awesome! I have a 24 valve vr6 GLI jetta with 130.000, just about to get a tune!

I’m not sure haha just a habit I guess, yeah the guides are making noise. I plan on 3.2 swapping so I’m not worried about it

I have a 24v gti and it did 15.8 with a 2.5 60foot I think I should be able to go atleast low 15s with a good launch still has a cat and everything previous owner said it supposedly had a stage 1 tune but idk
@DimeandKirk8 ай бұрын
15.9 is absurd for such a fun car. Have one myself. They definitely feel ALOT faster in a non quarter mile scenario.
@ecgarage43848 ай бұрын
I did 15.1 on a draggy. Spinning the whole 60ft was not helping.
@DimeandKirk8 ай бұрын
@@ecgarage4384 Problem with a dragging is it starts when you begin moving, not when the tree drops. Closer to real 1/4 times for the car, but not very accurate when comparing to drag times. The tree makes up a bit

Yo hear me out. I’m struggling to find out if a 5.0 coyote swap can be done on the mk4’s. That would be something to see

Learn to slip that clutch bro, dumping it a little too hard for your DD on the track. I didn’t finish the video but a clutch will be cheaper than axles/transmission replacement. Keep it up.

Friendly recommendation get a different cold air intake because that intake is in the engine compartment get an actual aem Cai because the placement on the end of the intake is next to your engine all its doing is sucking hot air
@ecgarage43842 жыл бұрын
For sure, ditch the hood would be ideal
@madisoncountymotorheads91272 жыл бұрын
I have the actual Cai on mine is why I say

Yeah the car is apart so once I get the wagon 3.2 swapped I’ll figure it out

Try rolling your car at the start. Don’t peal out. I had a mk4 Jetta. I always had better times with a roll at the start to gain traction

Well done mate. Don't forget to fit a 288 schrick cam on it. Perhaps you can get a 3.6L? That's 220kw stock. Greetings from Auckland.
@ecgarage43843 жыл бұрын
A 3.6 would be a more involved swap. As of now it is my daily so a 3.2 out of a 04 toureg would be a weekend ordeal!

@@ecgarage4384 Sweet, looking forward to the build. Suspension wise. I have Konis on mine. Feels really good, maybe you should bag it. That will be wicked. I forgot to ask, have fitted a short shift kit on it?
