Currently seeing 5° above ambient at cruising speeds and 22° above ambient under heavy load. Will probably be changing the setup in the near future to isolate the intercooler setup on its own loop with an additional water pump. but Currently it's running significantly better than stock where I was seeing 75° above ambient IAT's!

Thanks for the help! Just installed a universal Koyorad Heat Exchanger. For anyone reading this comment. I recommend a 3/4 inch coupler for feeding the one of the pipes to the pipe going to the pump.

Will this work for our car? I know we have the same. I've been wondering about an intercooler set up too. Rtmg has a watercooler block off plate and apparently sells a "stage 3 intercooler kit" but not sure it fits North American EA211 czta 1.4T engines, I messaged them (rtmg) waiting for a reply, I'd love to hear your thoughts, cheers

@@CtrlAltMoto what is shown in this video is someone doing it to our cars, so it’ll work. Just not sure if it’s worth it yet. Also the stage3 kit is a lot of work and money for not a lot of gain. I thought about that too
@JZsMK6.5
@JZsMK6.5 2 жыл бұрын
The block off plate works, from what I can see from their IC kit it won't work on the czta. Someone did just make a direct bolt on FMIC kit with piping looks really nice but the alleged price on it is pretty crazy supposedly it is going to be listed for $1700

hey bud, great build! ill be trying this on the EA111 instead. How's the clearance between the plastic belly pan and the bottom of the radiator? I have the luxury of customizing my radiator so I would appreciate it if you could share what would be the maximum possible dimensions of the radiator in your experience :)

Did you notice any difference? Also I see in your second video, you got an other setup with wires, does it require more than the first video you installed?
@JZsMK6.5
@JZsMK6.5 3 жыл бұрын
It makes a difference, but eventually 30 to 40 mins after consistent running Temps will reach their peak, rises about 8° every 10 mins. Next step is separating the turbo coolant line and running it off the stock H.E. while running the IC off the F.M.H.E. and yes the 2nd video I added an additional coolant pump. Which is what I will be running the FMHE on when I separate the systems.

@@JZsMK6.5 very interesting man , but is the additional pump necessary or I can just install the heat échanger to do.....thanks you seem like you know exactly what you talking about is there a tutorial ?
@JZsMK6.5
@JZsMK6.5 3 жыл бұрын
If you want to run only an additional H.E. I would suggest something more like this for the setup. rcagarage.com/shop/cooling/radiators/koyo-dual-pass-universal-heat-exchanger-radiator-turbocharged-supercharged-applications-kh183627/?gclid=CjwKCAjw-qeFBhAsEiwA2G7Nl2-UAxiiVeRx5DuSINkcVmDaoPvF9wsAcMtu2lfVYAcbxYeZxR0-PxoCsngQAvD_BwE
@JZsMK6.5
@JZsMK6.5 3 жыл бұрын
I ran the additional pump to see how much it would increase the efficiency of the FMHE running in conjunction with the stock setup. Adding the additional H.E. add almost a extra 1/2 gallon of coolant to the system, while the stock pump seemed to manage fine, I already knew I was going to separate the system so I just ran it inline for efficiency testing.
@JZsMK6.5
@JZsMK6.5 3 жыл бұрын
If you don't want to run 2 pumps upgrading the stock auxiliary pump would be sufficient enough. The Bosch pump I installed pumps about 2X the amount of coolant per hr and could be used to replace/upgrade the stock pump.

@@JZsMK6.5 I know I know I got a stock jetta and was looking around the engine bay and was like where’s the IC? We did the same thing in a 240hp John Deere tractor years ago mounting a different cooler for the water to air IC Went from 10 gallons per hour to 5GPH and could pull the chisel plow in a higher gear at higher speed, at half the fuel burn So economically it paid for itself in a day of work and sweat! More money in the wallet and carbon in the air too 🤣🤣🤣🤣
