I now coin the phrase "self-induced engine swap" because everything that happens to you in the process is self-induced.
@JerkingwithJesus Жыл бұрын
I add water methanol over nitrous. Mainly because I live in Canada and water methanol is legal and easily obtained and made with windshield washer fluid and mixing a little bit of trucker brake line de ice (its 99%methanol) mix a bit to make a 50/50 mix for far cheaper than anything that's being sold for water methanol kits.

@@RundUmsGamen exactly, I know of 3 tsi mk1's, 1 mk7 R swapped mk2 and a bunch of tsi mk2's and well as 1.4tsi mk1's and some daza mk2 and 3 in the usa. Just because it isn't on Fb groups or IG or Yt doesn't mean it isn't happening. Before 2001 there were 1.8t and 5cyl 20vT swaps in mk1's with AWD. In no way am I trying to take away from what Paul and Charles are doing, because it is awesome! Just saying, it isn't a first or that uncommon.

Best thing about this series, and the other DAP/Humble series, is that we know it's going to get done. It might not work, and it could explode, but we'll get to see it brought to some form of completion. And we won't have to watch them start 6 other projects before this one is finished either. Excellent content, and thank you for staying focused and delivering what we came to see!

Thanks for purchasing/installing our radiator! Small correction, though: we're actually an American company; our corporate headquarters are located in New Castle, Delaware. (The company name comes from the name of our founder's cat, Mishi. Mishi + moto = Mishimoto.) Great video, guys!

Best series I've seen in a while. Getting tired of seeing crazy swaps by guys with unlimited budgets and entire machine shops at their disposal. Seeing you looking miserable in a pile of harness spaghetti staring at wiring diagrams is some real life struggle lol

Driveshaftshop has been a go-to vendor for HD axles especially for a long time so its cool to see inside their facility. When there was nobody else making upgraded driveline parts to handle big power they were one of the few that existed. Very cool to see the long block fully mounted with your engine/ trans mount 'R&D,' along with the cooling package, charge piping, intake, etc. Excited to see the downpipe fab, fueling setup, etc. Great work, fellas! 😁👍

As someone who used to repair trailers, working up in Canada and seeing how easy you took that bearing out hurt my soul. I have many, not so fond memories, of using a 3/4 impact and just hammering on the removal tool with another guy using a torch to pull those rubber bushings out of trailing arms.

Just to let you know the VAQ needs steering angle yaw sensor, abs sensors to work for the torque vectoring. Im doing this swap into a mk2 and going to bin off the vaq and just get a mechanical LSD fitted. The DSG has its own internal speed sensor so it's easy to get working, the VAQ i think won't be. This may make your engine mount issues much easier.

The world needs more MK3 content. I have an ALH swapped MK3 Jetta, similar issues with mounting but all the points are there for the old style mounts on the ALH block. Gotta love VW interchangeability. On that note, you should have just gone to a MK4 1.8t 02J transmission with MK3 TDI mounts lol. Bolts up to your engine and gives mounts that work. None of the fanciness of the MK7 trans but is it really necessary?

Damn, when i did my 24V 2.8 VR6 (AYL) swap into my MK3 Golf GTI, i wanted to keep the Climatronic AC system and i kept the stock radiator shroud and making it fit was a nightmare, i had to bend the aluminium AC Hoses to not hit the front Oil temp sensor and rotate the main fan so the Fan connector doesn't hit the hose that goes to the radiator from the Thermostat housing, Im glad that i was able to complete the swap 100% in house (home business, car service), that helped a lot and the total cost of the project was a joke thanks to the fact that i had all the tools and done all the work and the fabrications myself. all of that by keeping the SAI system, Carbon Canister from the MK3, MK3 ABS system and what i have now is a 24v MK3 GTI like it was built that way from factory, 0 error codes on the ecu everything working 100%.
