MK7 GTI 30,000 mile review - Selling the best daily driver I've ever had

We bought this 2017 VW GTI Performance Pack brand new a few years ago. It's been a wonderful car and we've loved it. We're selling it, so in this video I review the car and how we've enjoyed it as a sporty, comfortable, feature-packed daily driver over the past 30,000 miles and 3 years.

Just bought a cornflower blue, manual GTI autobahn last week and I am loving it. Everything about this car makes me smile. Thanks for very informative clip!

Nice and informative vid. Had mine brand new since Jan 2018 so just over 3 years. Not fortunate to have multiple cars as of yet but this still ticks all the boxes and look forward to drive after 3yrs. Second car would be a rugged SUV for bad weather and a hardcore sports car to go wild. Gti still makes me happy tho. Fully stock minus coil overs, wheels and tint.

I am a car guy too. I liked your video, because I also drive a GTI (2019), one of the last buttons and knobs model. With all due respect, I think your over thinking what you drive and when. In the service you learn very early on K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid) just enjoy life without the complications ! 😎

Had you bought the one with ACC the stiffness would not have been an issue

I've got a MK7.5 2018 with APR stage 1 on ECU TCU and turbo muffler delete - high flower intake filter (in OEM box) and find the car sounding awesome in sports mode, which is probably me just like the sound actor thing a bit but even in normal I still like the native engine noise and am wondering if the 7.5 has a bit different exhaust system? Or the turbo muffler delete has changed tone ? What does everyone think...?

I'm not sure, I haven't heard any MK7 GTI that I think has an amazing exhaust. I did recently drive a 2015 Golf R and it sounded a bit throatier, not sure why.

PS - once you have worked with a Miata manual transmission - all those cable-actuated shifters feel like a video game. Right?

Depends. One on the gti is sloppier than something like a civic. Honda makes the better cable-acuated shifters. They feel great

10k a year is pretty normal, you're the one driving more than average! We also have a few additional cars so this wasn't driven all the time :-)
