MK7 Jetta w/3-inch down pipe/ECS Air Intake

I got a 2017 Jetta s 5-speed 5 years ago brand new with the engine generation before yours, I actually have similar plans to make stupid horse power on my own 1.4t. At the moment I believe I’m making around 200-215 hp and 310+ tq. Recently after a short 64,000 miles, I had to put in a stage 2 clutch as the stock clutch quickly wore out and could not handle the torque as I kept tweaking things to squeeze as much power as I could. Keep it up man! love the car, can’t wait to see how it is in the future!

You should definitely get the 2025 Toyota mr2. I'm saving up for one and hopefully by November, I should have enough to go in there and negotiate a good deal and I should have enough to not finance it. My mom always says.... "if you need to borrow money to buy it (from a bank), then you can't afford it" Plus you can negotiate a sweeter deal and no monthly payments.

Just installed the borla exhaust and I think it’s the perfect touch. Nice burbles too when shifting.

i just installed the ECS intake on my mk6 and its way better than any of the other competition. it's completely sealed off from the engine bay keeping intake temps down like a stock intake.

Got the same car same intake, plan on doing down pipe(catted since i like the deeper sound), and the unitronic tune. Wanted the borla quad tip catback, but the ecs quad tip axle backs with a catted down pipe might be an option. I think I’ll wait until you do it so I can see. But that borla has been pushing further and further back as far as the ship date.

Nice sound I just a 2019 six speed and definitely wanna do what you did I heard others they sound like garage this got a nice tone to it and can hear turbo at least thinking it's that sorry don't know much I'm a 80s Camaro guy so I'm use to 305 350 small block straight piped carburetors

JB4 is worth it if you installed it correctly, use 93 octane fuel, and use a good custom map 6 tune (I have an aggressive map 6 tune I could provide if you have an upgraded clutch)

Yea so I was using 93 and had the Volkswagen guy at JB4 to write me a set up and I mean there was definitely a difference but just wasn't big enough for me. But at the same time, its a smaller engine and I don't have any upgraded fuel parts.

You can also use the jb4 to piggy back off flash tunes. The jb4 is the best tuner you can have, don’t get rid of it because once you go stage 2 you can keep the jb4 and customize the tunes even more than it is at. It’s a full tuner with the different maps. Just talk to George

@@t58beare yeah it’ll work even off just stage 1. I have a 2014 1.8t and I read it all on the vwvortex forum. The head tuner at burger motorsports is very active in that community. Did you get rid of your Jetta for the 370?

@@t58beare They have a stage 2 and a downpipe now. It gives you some decent power gains. The 1.4 still can't get the 1.8 stock hp numbers with a stage 2. The tq gets a nice boost though. That's why I just traded my 2021 R-line for the 2022 GLi autobahn black package, and it's a beast stock.

Yo i'd really like to speak with you and kind of follow along with the build on the mk7 jetta. i just bought the same one just automatic and i'm planning on getting the 3" downpipe from ecs im not sure if that's the same one you've got. I also plan on getting the cold air intake from ecs, seems like a good buy. i look foreword to more videos.

Of course man, thanks for the sub and support. So my down pipe was a cts 3 inch. I got mine from uro tuning because they have the the cts one without the cat piece and saved me like 100-150. I believe they are the same pipe tho, if the brand is cts on ecs tuning it is. So I like my intake but cts made a gen 2 version of theirs and it might be better than the ecs. I would look into it. Also if you want a tune, google tunezilla. Only place I really found that had something custom and stage 2. *Without going to a tuner.

What tune are you running?. I live in utah I don't have 93 octane higher elevation,, and I need a tune to run the 3" catted dp and air intake and dump valve. So I need some knowledge to run which tune so I can use 91 octane

I wasn’t tuned at all. Just jb4, I would recommend Apr or unitronic. A place called tunezilla has stuff available as well but not sure if they are good or not.

It’s been a while I cannot remember exactly, but I believe it was the stock. If it wasn’t the stock, then it was supplied.

@@landencolletta681 Thats great, the install was pretty easy except for removing the stock downpipe just for a heads up. You have to like rotate it as you're pulling it down and out if I remember correctly.

I could make a video on it or explain it too ya as well. It’s actually pretty easy. There is a small amount of trouble moving the factory pipe tho. So big and small area. The cts one is extremely easy to put on and take off

No, the engine light came from removing my cat that was before the o2 sensor. You could cut out the whole exhaust after the cat and be totally fine.

Had a Genesis coupe absolutely complete garbage car!.. aftermarket support is terrible cause Hyundai has never had a racing heritage. If you want a great car the Audi or the VW GTI or 2019+ GLI APR Stage 1 ECU, TCU DSG like I have is an amazing car! Golf R has exact same motor as GTI GLI A3 S3 A4 with more drivetrain loss with the Quattro or 4motion but no sunroof which could be a deal breaker.
