Diesel turbo upgrades are not as common around here so we decided to share. MK7 TDI CR150 gets upgraded to a Xman Turbo Hybrid CR190. We also do a downpipe kit as well on this vehicle. Tuned With Malone Stage 3 software.

Thanks for the TDI content! I have a CR170 swapped MK6 TDI Jetta and on the MK7 people steered away from the CR190 turbo as I do believe people had boost creep issues. The TDI gets some looks and I even had a bit of fun with a S6 V10 Avant on the highway, he was surprised although got ahead haha

Hey CO Motersports. The engine coolant temps are best brought up to temp by driving it. I let mine heat up for 2 hours in 10 degree weather, and it never warmed up. Slave cyl failed and the only way to get it working was to warm up the car 🤷 idk why that worked. Best to drive it for 5 min, temps will go right up. As for power the numbers make sense to me. So 🤷 idk what other people say its so low for. Apparentl the 2 best upgrades would be a cp3 HPFP (as cp4s tend to blow up), and a tune. This would probably net the same ish hp/tq as it has more fueling. Then you can throw on a turbo. Kerma has alot of experience if you were looking to get in the tdi game. Darkside development too. Id love to see what this mk7 would do with a cp3 fuel pump as well. You could use this as a baseline test to see what the pump added. 🤪
@COMotorsports
@COMotorsports 4 жыл бұрын
Appreciate the feedback, we tune TDI's regularly with Malone, and have for many years. There's just not a large market for turbo upgrades on TDI's in our market/region. It's an expensive endeavor for the power you can get. Heck a stage 1 MK7 1.8t makes this sort of power and torque at a 5th of the cost.

I know its been a minute, but have the same cr150 with malone tuned ecu/dsg and cr190 1449vz from gottuned (comparable to xman's, 'cept mine's 7+7 and trimmed flukes). getting surging over 110mph with having to go to a 4 bar MAP sensor via darkside. S&B intake to turbine, straight rawtek 3" to 2.5" afe straight. Not a fan of potential backpressure with Magnaflow's petrol 3" system and MF won't make a straight 3". with 255/35/18 on stock wheels it wouldn't surge til 135 but 255/45/18 has it at 110-112. cannot find a 3" straight cat/axel-bac anywhere, had Bank's on my MKVI jetta - so surging is something new. Passat, so didn't know if the 2.5" only keeps constant pressure til upper hwy passing. Any ideas anybody? Cannot find larger turbo discharge pipes that lead to intercooler/ leave it.
