For the record, the disclaimer at the beginning has nothing to do with anything legal, I just noticed several instances of confused parents ending up on the Mario Kart subreddit recently looking for why their game doesn't have the content their kid found on KZbin when the kids were watching mod videos. Also, because enough people are asking, the music is Underground Moon Caverns from Super Mario Odyssey.

This track is incredible. Visually, it's really distinct from any other custom track I can think of, but the design is where this thing shines. I love the complexity at play with the ramps and speed boosts in the middle, and the hard jumps are never unfair, just require you to be able to react fast. I think this is a solid contender for your best custom track yet.

This has to be one of the best MK8 Custom Tracks I’ve ever seen. The creativity with the lava geysers in the anti-gravity section is insane, and the track doesn’t only have a really cool and unique theme, but also looks really really nice. Almost as if it was a base MK8 track. And I haven’t even gotten to the fact that there are split paths AND that you can go from one path to another as a shortcut with a mushroom. Super well done!
@kendallmonge6498 күн бұрын
This. Is. AMAZING. The visuals of this track are absolutely breathtaking in and of themselves, but the gameplay is particularly incredible. I feel like that's such an underrated aspect of making a great custom track, and you consistently nail it. The "choice" you require players to make between the long green conveyor belt or the short red conveyor belt, the speed boost by the lava geyser compared to the regular ramp above it, the shortcuts - it's all amazing. This track looks like a masterpiece and plays like a dream. Excellent job!

very good track. the layout shows the creator knows how to create a track that feels good to drive on and has a lot of small gimmicks where "experienced" players can show there skills

Does this mean we'll get Making a Mario Kart Track Part 8? Or did you finish this off-camera? Either way, very glad this track has finally come into fruition!
@Squadaloo8 күн бұрын
I finished it off camera. Basically, I realized the problem with the series was that in order to accomplish something per episode I wasn't actually working the way I normally do which is to work on one part until I get bored of it and then I switch to another part. This doesn't make for a coherent series, however, so I was trying to work on one specific thing until it was done, which led to burnout.

Really impressive. Being the annoying critic I am, I’m still gonna critique it though :/ (seriously though, this is really good.) 1) This might just be personal preference, but the lava from grumble really looks like molten cheese, the lava from BC3 might look better. 2) the turn onto the dam seems to have a wack camera… but probably would require being drastically changed to make said camera cooperate. 3) The lava sphere in the conveyor part looks like it is tiling, maybe scale up the UV map (I think that’s the right wording :/)
@Squadaloo8 күн бұрын
1. I might look into it, I'm not crazy about how this lava looks, either. 2. It actually looks much worse here due to using a sport bike and at one point I told myself not to use one for the video then promptly forgot, but yes, this is one of those things where 2025 me put more faith into 2023 me doing the work to ensure the course design works with the camera than I should have. Really, I'd probably have to nuke the first half of the dam to fix it, and it doesn't seem nearly as bad with the vehicles most people will use as it does here. 3. I actually kind of like the way it looks, it looks like a mini sun to me and makes it stand out from the normal lava. I'd change it maybe a bit but not much.
