I guess what I really meant to say was it surprises me how safe Apple has played it with their design language over all of these years, with the only major changes being the flat edges and the camera. When I think of 2017, I have this image in my mind of iPhone 6s and galaxy s7’s with their massive bezels and “old” technology, and how much more sleek and advanced our 2023 phones are.

Combined with a mediocre screen, OS, and camera, it just wasn't a serious competitor to the iPhone X. Which is why the iPhone X is one of the best selling phones of all time, and the PH1 is forgotten. I think you missed the mark with the review. The price is too fucking high. Starts at a $1,000 for 64gb which is useless in a phone that shoots 4k video, so they push you to spend $1,200 for their next model and they don't even include the fast charger or even a wireless charger. It's like $80 for their fast charger so that's extra money + case + screen protector + tax. We're looking at a $1,500 phone after everything.

Rewatching this to feel new because I just got my iPhone X back from motherboard repair with a new battery whilst waiting for the launch of 14 lineup, can't stand buying the current 13 lineup yet, there is not even that much big of a design change other than features. I'm pretty sure they will go back on touch id given that they removed it just because their new iteration (touch behind the screen) wasn't ready. The iPhone X is just a test bench, I don't think Steve would have ever released such an unfinished product, but I guess that's how they do now.

7:38 I hope most people realised you didn’t have to either swipe half way up or swipe up and to the right to move through recent apps, you only need to swipe left and right on the bottom edge. And you only need to swipe up about 10mm and pause for maybe a quarter of a second to open Task Manager, so way quicker than a home button.
