If you put 2019 MKLeo in 2024 , he will probably get bodied on the first 3 months but then due to 2019 MKLeo have insane motivation and insan grid and grind mentality , he would eventually catch up and be at least Top 3 competeing with Sparg0 , Miya , Acola and Sonix. 2019 MKLeo is just an insane beast that was just fucking relentless.

MKLeo has had one of the greatest careers in Smash. I believe he’s 2nd to Zero in overall Smash career history. MKLeo was the most enjoyable to watch. The state of Smash is going to get better.

@@thelordoftheweebs9501 I forgot to state that, Zero’s winstreak, not just his career. His grind was something else. This is a side note but grinding, playing, and traveling back then was something else. In terms of outside of the game, those days were much more dire. Everyone was trying to overthrow Zero and he was always hated, the “villain” of his own story. I think he’s the one who’s went through the most overall, and the struggles and adversity in his journey to accomplish his 56 wins is what makes it one of the most commendable achievements. MKLeo is also just amazing and he’s still playing the game. A lot of the top players from MKLeo’s reigning era are not grinding the same way anymore. It’s phenomenal he’s still playing the game, and I’m hoping he gets top 10 this year but it’ll be a tough one. Also in one of the recent videos, the one with Riddles, they don’t VOD review and grind like they used to; at the same time, there are so many ways for people to prepare themselves. Zero was on it for every person…Anyway it’s just all different to compare now.

I love these types of videos but I will say I think they definitely have to pick better clips for their career highlights. Obviously, for most of them it would be a 20 min long video (which I would love) and I don't know how things go behind the scenes for making these but I would definitely enjoy it a lot more. I think it would be cool to focus a bit more on their Sm4sh career and the important rivalries at the time, especially for Leo and Tweek's videos. For Sm4sh, his Smash Factor 4 run and his first win over Zero would be awesome. For ult, things like Leo's Frostbite run (they showed it in the video but only grands, he literally beat Samsora and Nairo to just to make it to top 8), his loss against Tweek at Smash Summit 3 and then his win over him at Riptide, and his dominance over Sparg0 would be really cool to see his thoughts on.

The crowd at SSC 2019 grand finals went dead silent when he made that epic comeback against Samsora in game 4 grands. They definitely rooted against him quite a bit at that tournament but probably because they had just seen him win evo the weekend prior

EVO 2019 was electric when Tweek was running the set, but the energy died the second Leo won game 4. After winning the biggest smash tournament of all time his crowd consisted of myself as well as a group of friends that was on holiday from Monterey. Mew2King was also there as well as some EchoFox production crew. The only audience members that stuck it out were there because we wanted to support our boy from Mexico. Leo was NOT popular and neither was his choice of Joker. But, to an extent, you’re right that he is the least-hated no. 1 since it’s only ever been him an Acola, it’s just that the way that you presented your opinion is a bit disingenuous.

I've never been to an event in person, I just watched them through youtube and streams and throughout most of the Byleth and post Byleth you could hear the crowd cheer for him. You're right about the Joker era though. I was mostly comparing him to goats of the past games, Zero, M2K and Hungrybox had it especially bad. Mango was a fan favorite too but he had his share of controversies and beef with other players, unlike Leo. I feel like Sparg0 could become just like Leo too but lately all tournaments have been getting really small, way less crowd noise. You could say the scene is getting more mature and hating less on our players but Cody is getting his share of hate today too, so yeah...
