It was pretty much the Infinity War/Endgame for us 90's kids at the time. In retrospect,it was far from perfect, the plot and character development and so on,but by God this movie to me,was, and still is MAGICAL.

There were a lot of iconic moments in this film. My best probably was the first time when we get to see Sub Zero and Scorpion on the boat as they enter that door. That's when I knew, "Shit just got real".

Brandon Ninja i agree and my personal favorite, supposedly a reboot is in the works, hopefully they will make a cpl of them so they don't have to cram all the story into one movie, that's where Annihilation suffered, way too many characters for it to be so over the top, which created the cheesiness...and not having the main cast aside from robin hurt too...lol i could go on n on with the mistakes of part 2 but im definitely waiting for the reboot

20 years later (!) and this is STILL the best videogame movie ever made. Say what you will about Paul Anderson's career but he fucking ROCKED with Mortal Kombat. the reboot series was good, but it lacked what it needed and it needed some of the older cast from the original film like Robin Shou and Christophe Lambert as both Liu and Rayden respectively considering they managed to get Cary back for season 2. I think they should have gotten the guy who played Shao Khan for the series too. The good thing about it was, was that apparently there will be a season 3 and a mortal kombat 3 movie which will remove Annihilation out of canon. But don't quote me on that, it's just what I read on wikipedia.

The MK Movie was an all around great film. Well researched, well rehearsed, perfectly casted and choreographed, nicely paced, greatly scripted and so on. It was a job but it was also fun for everyone; here you see that love, care, and attention to detail. You notice all that effort put in by everyone, which resonates with the fans and I think that’s why this movie was such a success and gets so much praise to this day.

I could recite this whole movie word for word when I was a kid lol people say this and especially the sequel are bad, but I think they're excellent fun if you watch them right, it's nice to be able to turn off your brain sometimes, it's good for you :)

90's great time. So many good movies among all genres, for me its Hollywood "Golden Era". But MK is a special one, when many kids/teens was playing 8-bit games, this came along - was like super epic experience.

This documentary needs to be longer. They also should've brought in Chris Casamassa and Trevor Goddard for an interview because they did a pretty strong impression too.
