4th Gen Ram ABS FAILURE! Hydraulic Control Unit Repair/Replace

2018 Ram 2500 ABS Module intermittent Service ABS System warning on dash. Couple methods to fix the issue so many are experiencing with their 17-18' Ram trucks. HCU removal will require brake bleeding and the use of Alfaobd or similar scan tool to activate abs brake bleed procedure. Repair was pretty easy, pay special attention to detail so you dont miss a critical step.

I had the HCU and ABS module go out in my 18 power wagon with 24,000 miles on it. Ordered both updated parts from a dealership in Florida. I had that parts in 3 days… my local dealership said they were back ordered for months also. You can find them just like did you just have to look. I had the dealership install the parts because of the programming.

@@johnnydalewhatthehell4727 HCU doesn't require any programming only if your replacing the abs module. Alfaobd is used to activate the pump for abs bleed procedure. The dealers are supplied by specific warehouses so if one dealer tells you out of stock another dealer may use a different warehouse that has stock so yiu have to check around.

What are the symptoms when that part goes bad?

@@jobanirubio5683 intermittent Service ABS will display on the dash in most cases. Likely that the pump failing is the culprit but could be a failed abs module as well. I'd look at the pump before replacing a module.
