Good information. I have all of my movie files converted to MKV and use VLC to play all audio and video files. It's easy to turn on (or off) subtitles or to change the audio streams. If I need to add a subtitle to a file or convert a video file to MKV, I use the MKV ToolNix programme.

This was helpful what I heard was MKV has better quality and audio but may not be compatible with everything and MP4 is universally compatible and easy for streaming

mkv for me is better even edit video longplays where to cut withoud reencoded and don't have problems with b-frames or similar, just cut and join.

@@TheNtrLight for me theres no are diffence, if u want in obs you can record in mkv, but go on settings and check the option to convert .mp4 if u want.
