Whenever i change between presets, some components get disabled including the snare. on pretty much every preset, the snare is not active and i have to manually pick one from the list. This a bug or a feature?

If you're seeing missing components when changing presets, it's likely that you haven't purchased the components used in that preset (either in the essentials or luxe pack). This is by design - you can re-add alternatives yourself, but these will sound slightly different to the intended sound of the preset. -Kai

Mikko here - we have talked about plans for making midi stuff happen. I'm not sure if a midi groove player is the best solution but it's one way of doing things. So what might be coming could be something hopefully more intuitive but it's still in the sketch phases. Thanks!

​​@@mlsoundlab Thanks for your reply guys! I understand you'd have to figure out how to implement such a system. Reason why I'm mentioning it, is that most people don't want to endlessly drag MIDI loops back and forth into their DAW until they get one that suits their needs. Having a MIDI groove player, helps with playing it back in realtime within the software itself, from there you can drag and drop it into your DAW. Plus you have all your MIDI libraries in one spot too, so no endless searching through folders on your PC either. I feel it might greatly add to the workflow of ML Drums! This is one of the reasons why I'm still on EZDrummer 2, everything's just there in one spot. Super convenient! But again, ML Drums has a lot going for it too and I'm sure with future updates it'll only get better. Take care!

I use ML essential for all my drums, but I use EZ Drums to help me find a groove that I then add some things to. I would love to see ML Drums have some groove packs!

I absolutely love this drum library and am getting Luxe too!!! I have a question in regards to using the hi hat with my Alexis Strike Pro. I would love to see CC data being able to be sent for open and closed hats when playing and using this recording but can’t seem too. Any ideas?

Is "127 all" the optimal way of using this plugin with the humanize function (i.e. was it intended to be used this way)? Or is it better to do some velocity editing and have the humanize function to be an icing on the cake if you will?

Good question! We've built it so that 127 everything adds a natural fatigue, but it works well regardless of how you set it up. 127 doesn't account for things like pulsing cymbals and ghost notes on the snare, so it's very likely that you'll get better results from adjusting the velocities first. Even if you just do a basic pass - you can set all of the quieter hits to 35 velocity, the rest at 127 and it'll sound nice and natural. -Kai

What made you decide to make humanize a binary toggle switch verses a knob to adjust?

Just for the sake of simplicity really - it's not a substitute for fully adjusting all of the velocities (especially considering things like ghost notes), but it'll curb any glaring issues. -Kai

Dumb question. Using ML Drums in Reaper. Looking to split each channel in the mix so I print the midi to Audio for mixing. Any tips on how to do so?

Should be pretty easy in Reaper - when you instantiate the plugin, there's a pop-up asking if you want to create additional channels. Hit "Yes" and it'll automatically split ML Drums into all available channels -Kai

Roots has a free-scale option in the bottom-right corner, ML Drums has three different size options. If you're unable to reach these corners, adjust the display scaling in your device's settings temporarily, then adjust the plugin scaling. -Kai

If something is blacked out in the drum view it's just a sign that no midi not corresponds to that drum - therefore you can't trigger it. Need to add a note to it on the midi side. Security measure. :)

Just install ML Drums Free (2.0.3) over the top of your existing installation, it'll keep your license code intact 💪 -Kai

Just install the new version of ML Drums Free right over the top of your existing download, it'll automatically update everything. It might change how your presets sound, and the MIDI mapping will change a little bit, so be sure not to do it during a particularly important session! -Kai

Man I love ML drums, only thing I do not like is the single cpu license. My cpu got hacked and I was able to transfer all 1000 plugins to my new cpu with no issues except for ML drums :( I'll probably buy again though next sale as damn they were good and now with the new updates.... eeeeep. Those snares are just fantastic!

Yes you can! Enable the E-Kit in the audio/MIDI settings menu of ML Drums, then head to the MIDI tab and hit the MIDI Learn icon next to each kit piece, followed by the relevant mapping for your E-Kit. Once you've made your MIDI map, you can then save it to recall later. -Kai

I don't know what is happening, but after updating to 2.0 the drums are EXTREMELY quiet and now my kick has this godawful pop that nothing seems to get rid of. I was hoping that the update would allow me to sidechain to individual midi tracks, but instead it ruined every song that I have. Needless to say I'm a bit upset.

Oh god, isn't there some way to roll back? I've already deleted my download of the previous install. Apparently the 2.0 update uses so much more resources that my PC can't handle it no matter what settings. This has completely destroyed all of my songs.

We've not had any reports aligning with this, but we'll happily assist you with rolling back if you've got a lot of projects depending on it. 2.0 changed an awful lot of things in the mixer section especially, so it's natural that the sounds will be different after updating. -Kai

@@mlsoundlab Hey Kai, thanks for your quick reply. I've solved the kick drum issue. It turned out to be artifacting, but I was confused as it got worse the higher my buffer size went, and I've never seen completely consistent artifacting. Usually it's fairly random. I also got frustrated as Ableton crashed every attempt to freeze. I thought I had set my midi preset to "AD" as I usually do; seeing it was set to "custom", I changed to my usual setting and all artifacting instantly disappeared. I expected some mixing stuff to change, yes, so I'll happily remix the songs as that was kind of my intent.
