thank you for this video - I see the Polish accent, our Made in Poland bearings :) - that's odd because in Poland we are looking for bearings for Koyo/NSK/NTN/Nachi/GMB (Japan) or SKF (Sweden) or sometimes distributed by INA (Germany) - depending on the car manufacturer that we have

Hi what gasket maker did you use 22:36 to seal the transfer case back together? Most gasket RTV silicone high temperature requires an hour to set before torquing the bolts and up to 24hr to cure before adding fluid. It appears what you’re using is different and no need to wait. Is it for high temps?

Why did they used a chain in the ML transfer case and gears in the rest of the models like the c class and e?? I just don't see any advantage to chain stretch (no matter how much this might last, a gear will not make much noise even when a bit worn).

Very nice. What was the cleaning spray and the sealant used? I assume the lube was MB ATF? What tool did you pull the little bearing out with?
@mymercrepairs10973 жыл бұрын
The cleaning fluid is a brake cleaner. It is cheap, effective and easy to apply. Yes I used ATF MB oil the same as for the gearbox I used the most ordinary puller to remove the bearings The sealant is Reinz - Reinzosil

@@mymercrepairs1097 Cool.. i'm considering doing this job ... I'm wondering though if you're not sometimes tapping on the inner race and hoping the new bearing doesn't come apart (like 15:40, 19:17). I guess the only other way would be to put the bearing on the item first and then tap the combined assembly into place with the outer race. This would seem to be hard at 15:40, but I've run into issues where a bearing separates (like wheel bearing when pushing the hub into the bearing already in the knuckle). I'm not a pro, so it's really good to see a video like this and see that this method works. By the way, how would you do the seals if you did them? I figure if I try to refurb the transfer case and get a kit, might as well do the seals.
@mymercrepairs10973 жыл бұрын
@@peter_c I understand your concern you can damage your bearings like this. You have to hit carefully Or best is to use a hydraulic press, but it also requires skill because too much force can destroy the bearing or casing. And not everyone has such equipment like hydraulic press. I want to show the simplest repair methods with the simplest tools I used a wrench, not a hammer, and I hit it often but lightly and the bearing works fine. Seals, of course, it's good to replace , I couldn't buy new ones and the old ones were in working order, so I decided to put them old so far no leaks , in case of problems, they can be easily replaced

Hey there... very nice video! Is it needed any special specific tool? Or just universal tools??
@mymercrepairs10973 жыл бұрын
Thank you :) I used ordinary tools, the only bigger problem was Disassembling the output shaft.
