Because if you turn towards the field of play you can be tagged out. The first base coach was right on him telling him to get to the bag

No they can overrun first and turn either way as long as they make no actual attempt towards second. First base coach making that motion probably was what made the ump think that call needed to be made, but was wrong. What that runner did can’t legitimately be seen as a a movement towards second.

If I remember correctly, I think the batter before urias was in a 3-2 count and the pitcher threw a ball that should've been a strike and inning over but the ump calls it a ball which loads the bases for urias and then Chapman walks urias and the orioles win

Just once I want an announcer to get behind the plate and call one inning of pro baseball. See how many they get right. I get it some people miss calls but that still doesn’t negate the fact that they aren’t allowed to argue and if they do they run the very high risk of being ejected. It’s not a “surprise”

Most of the pitch trackers I see in these clips seem to be static and don't change with each batter, though they should since the top and bottom of the strike zone are defined in relation to the individual batter. For example at 18:20 the batter is prepared to swing and the track indicates a zone from his waist to the top of his socks. That's not how the rules define the zone, but the announcers treat the tracker as gospel. What the hell?

Umpires should be fined for bad calls. If players get fined for not doing there job as outlined then so should umpires who Fail to do there job efficiently, effectively and accurately. Put an ear piece on them from someone watching the strike zone with technology. When they make horrible calls they get a warning when they refuse to recalibrate fine them a fair amount according to there overall pay. Nothing that would break them but deter them from having vendettas or being just plain lazy or crappy at there job.

Umpires in Baseball have too much power. The Umpires Union needs to be broken as most of the Umpires seem to think the game revolves about them. Anyone thrown out of a Major League Baseball game is fined. Where are the fines for Umpires who continually make terrible calls ? I think it’s high time this type of Language is put in the Umpire Labor Agreement.
