I didn’t realize all career defining “hits” were homers minus Ichiro’s 3,000th hit. When I think career defining hits, I think Luis Gonzalez’s walk-off base hit in the World Series or Jeter’s walk-off base hit on the last at-bat of his career. Not saying a lot of these aren’t magical in this video, they are. But, home runs do NOT always define careers, legendary careers at that. I like the long ball, but some of the most magical hits ever are gap shots, bleeders, or clutch base hits. I don’t care what anyone says.

He had an infection in his vocal chords throughout the entirety of the 2011 World Series. If you think you can do better whilst having a vocal chord infection, take the mic and show everyone. Also, how can he be the most boring announcer ever? You dig through the video to find a call where he is not 100% and he is somewhat boring, and yet you don't acknowledge the FIRST CLIP in this video right before it, the David Ortiz grand slam where he does get excited, or his call of Rajai Davis' HR at 5:49. If you think Joe Buck's call of the Ortiz grand slam or Rajai Davis' game tying HR was boring, you must be either delusional or deaf.

As a big-time Red Sox fan, I greatly appreciate the video starting off with "Big Papi" hitting that granny against Detroit in the 2013 playoffs. Also, considering that Ichiro never started playing in the Major Leagues until he was 27, missing at least five prime years if not more. Had he come into the league sooner, there's no doubt WHATSOEVER that he would've challenged Pete Rose for most career hits!!!

Posey's was the grandslam off Matt Latos in game 5 of the 2012 playoffs. With the history between Latos and the Giants and the fact that it put the nail in the coffin of a great comeback in that series, that's his big moment imo.

That David Ortiz moment is great, but either one of his walk-offs to keep Boston alive in the 2004 ALCS probably rank higher for Red Sox fans. I say this as a Braves fan that stayed up to watch that crazy comeback.

My dad and I live in Southern Cali but are diehard Red Sox fans. We got to go to Big Papi’s grand slam. We sat sorta near first base. I remember how sad and boring it was. Bot 8 and down by 4. The whole park was absolutely electric in a second. It’s one feeling watching it but it’s another being there. My dad and I also went back the next day to get merch on Yawkey Way and ran into a few interviewers, so we were able to get in the paper and talk about it.

I would argue that David Ortiz's walk off home run vs the Yankees in the 2004 ALCS was his career defining hit. At the point of the grand slam, he was already well-known.

As a Giants fan Buster Posey's biggest hit was either his grand slam in game 5 of 2012 NLDS against the Reds. Or it was his 2 run homerun vs the Tigers in game 4 of the 2012 World Series.
@vinvlog9307

Ahhh yes. When people think of Buster Posey’s career, they don’t think about his 3 World Series rings, his batting title, all the no hitters and perfect games he’s caught, his rookie of the year, or his MVP. They think of his walk-off home run in a game in May of 2017. A real career defining moment
