He doesn't get interviewed very much anymore because he would almost never give a legit interview early in his career. He'd spend the whole time joking around and making fun of the interviewers by not taking their time seriously. Look up his "mountie interview". Dude does an entire 8 minute interview straight faced dressed as a Canadian Mountie. By this point he was already a 4x all star, gold glove, and NL MVP. Gotta love it

Seeing goodwill in sports with millions of dollars on the line is very heartwarming. Incredible how powerful this is to watch. I wonder if the players know the impact they have sometimes. Not so much when the do something bad but stuff like this affects people profoundly. Also its a great example for children in how to compete and care for your competitor at the same time. Because in 40 years when you think back, you'll remember the goodwill far more than the competition. And if you don't you need therapy. :)

The fake fall at home after HBP reminds of going to the plate when one of my players got hit. If it's in a meaty area, there isn't much worry, or anything you can do for them. Tried a lot of stuff, the freeze sprays, etc, nothing helps except time, & getting their minds off it. To that end, when a player got hit anywhere other than the legs & went down, I go out to the plate, and ask, "Where'd it hit ya?", (already knowing the answer.) I'd get a groan, my triceps, my side, etc. I would deadpan, loud enough for only the ump & catcher to hear, 'Well, why the hell you layin' on the ground, didn't hit your leg.' This always cracked up the ump, then the catcher would chuckle; by the time the player had a chance to realize what I'd said, & spin his head towards me, I wait a beat, then give them a big grin & offer my hand, 'Come on, get up, so you get the applause.' They would, & did. By the time I walked 'em to 1st base, we were laughing & they were threatening me w/ all kinds of pay back. Funny thing was, the bruise was never acknowledged 'til after the game, when I'd bring them an ice bag. Half the time they'd look at me, then remember, Oh, yeah...
