Anyone talking about the Phillies strength of schedule, I will leave you with this, the Phillies swept the same Padres team that just beat the Braves twice in Atlanta. One of those was an embarrassing showing by the Braves. The Braves have also played many of the same teams as the Phillies.

4:05 It was nice to hear something positive about The Seattle Mariners at the beginning of the video. Their pitching is really good, and although their hitting isn't great, it's often enough to win.If Julio gets going they should do even better. They have won their first two games in their series against The Yankees, and Brian Woo was fantastic. It remains to be seen whether they can keep it up, but you sure don't hear much about them.

MLB needs the Yankees back, but America needs a Phillies versus O's series. Both the Phillies and the O's were shown some disrespect here. Phils are first in runs, first in ERA by starters, and first in innings pitched by starters. But screw Philly, right? Since it's only the largest, single team market in the US. There's 8 other teams besides the Phillies that are better than 3 games above 500 right now. Meaning they're not a series sweep away from being 500. Yes the Phillies will most likely not end the season with a 700+ winning percentage, but the strength of schedule stuff is grasping at straws. There's only a handful of legitimately good teams in the league anyway.

Unfortunately none of this translates to october. Since MLB and the players union accepted the new collective bargaining agreement, there is no such thing as baseball playoffs anymore. The fall classic is now a tournament. Virtually no team has any advantage over the other. The regular season may in fact be more important than the crown.

Orioles and Brewers have the highest Strength of Schedule of the top 10. Phillies have lowest SOS in all of baseball. Phillies winning rate will start to level out, and Orioles will remain at or even better than current winning percentage.

This doesn't make any sense. The teams that are beating teams on easy schedules are winning games they are supposed to win. Look at come from behind wins and run differentials, and you get a totally different story.
