I want to mention the Dodgers for Bichette too. Thats definitely an obvious landing spot, but I wanted to cover some other possibilities as well without the video being too long. Perhaps a trade of Gavin Lux & River Ryan could get it done.

I remember in 1990 when the Blue Jays shipped off their star first baseman and star shortstop to San Diego for two of their star players, setting up for back to back World Series championships. However, I don't trust Atkins to make competent trades, much less brilliant ones.

@@FeiLi-i9z They didn't know what they had with Cecil. He was my favorite Blue Jay back in the day, but they didn't find playing time for him. None of the MLB teams gave him a chance, so he had to go to Japan to put up a great 1989 season.

Dodgers had big interest in Bo during the off-season. I feel like if he does become available that’s a real possibility considering Gavin lux hasn’t hit his stride yet.

That could be an option for sure too! Betts going back to RF is probably for the best, but he has held his own at SS so far.

@@rhydeBetts will never go back to the OF. His splits when playing RF vs SS or 2nd is a huge plus for his bat. Plus Betts wants to stay in the IF and the Dodgers like keeping him healthy at 2nd with periodic stint at SS

@@rhyde I was meaning more along the lines of gavin lux being traded off, sadly. It would let mookie play 2nd and bichette at SS. I wanted gavin lux to work out but man it hasn’t looked good offensively at all.

Wouldn’t it make more sense for the Jays to NOT take on Lange? Back end of bullpen and control sure, but the BP position itself is volatile, Lange is 28 and isn’t exactly the type of BP arm you take on, and Lange has been incredibly inconsistent. I feel like it would make more sense if they asked for one of the young pitchers. BP arm seems to be the last need for a rebuilding team and a shipping out of bichette or Vlad would signify a legit rebuild not necessarily a retool.

Why would the jays trade Bo or vlad for anything less than a huge overpay? They have all the leverage and these trades feel like underwhelming returns when the jays could try and run it back in 2025 from a smaller retool

Like I said in the video, these are moreso starting points. They could probably get more, but based off their numbers so fsr, how much more could they actually get if they don’t heat up? If they don’t get going, you might as well just hang onto them.

They aren’t close to winning that division, and not looking good for next year too. I think if they really liked these guys, they’d have signed at least one. Just because they play in a big market, doesn’t mean they should just let their players leave for nothing and fail to retool.

I know its a longshot but if the Pirates choose to become buyers at the trade deadline I'd like to see them go after someone like Guerrero or Alonso. They have plenty of pitching they can trade in the minors and its the one position that's been their weakest for years now.

I’d love to see it too. His stock might be down slightly. He’d be a perfect fit, even if he never comes back to as good as he once was. He’s productive. Pirates can get it done by offering a top pitching prospect like Solomento or Chandler. And not every sp will hit, so why not trade one since you can’t develop bats. Maybe offer a catcher and another prospect and we’re talking.

Mariners will be buyers, there’s not doubt in that. The question becomes I guess who do they get? I think if the Mets fall back off JD Martinez would be a great add for DH and then a move like this for Vlad would set them up really nicely.

Like I said in the video, starting points. However, for 4 years now, I’ve said this to what feels like thousands of people. The fact that you just bash what I put without making your own proposals shows to me you probably couldn’t do it better my friend, and probably have no understanding of how trades work. Also, I’m not American, ya nerd.

If Jays do not go at least 7-4 or 8-3 next 1 1/2 weeks they are gone.....so far Jays are 2-1. Bassitt Gausman Romano Bo and Vladdy gone maybe even Jansen. Aiken/Shapiro the gong show.

Watching bo and vlad dog it up the line when they hit a groundball tells me everything I need to know about them. Watching Schneider, Clement, Varsho, IKF , Biggio, Jansen bust their asses up the line every single time tells me everything I need to know about them.

I'd love to have vladdy over abreu (love Jonny homerton tho) but Luis Baez cannot leave for any reason, if he loses 20 pounds (reportedly about 240lb currently) he'll get his speed back and be even more of a monster

I think the only realistic trade here rightnow is the vlad to Seattle one, if the jays are trading either of them that signals a rebuild they arent gonna try competing still, theres just not enought prospect return in any of those bo trades

As a life long Blue Jays fan, I hope they trade these guys as well as others (but replace Atkins first as I don't trust him to get the right deals done). This team has been painful to watch the last couple of years - I have been watching other teams lately.

If the Astros get vlad and the tigers or reds get bo I would be such a happy guy, those are my 3 teams and vlad is my favorite player not on those 3 teams
