Between 2004 and 2022, the Cardinals caught 35.29% of stolen base attempts, by far the best in MLB. The gap between them and the second-place Tigers at 31.55% is larger than the gap between the Tigers and the 13th-place Dodgers (27.86%). Cardinal pitchers also had the third-fewest wild pitches of any team during this span, behind only the Mets and Phillies-but their figure of 838 sits only 34 out of first place and leads the 4th-place Nationals by 60. Hopefully the man responsible, the one with the most putouts of any catcher ever, will make the Hall of Fame without too much hassle.

Yadi nabbed like 42%. Backups brought that down.

What's more impressive is the fact teams were much more selective when attempting steals against Yadi. The Cards had a much fewer attempted steals against than any other team. He has that caught stealing percentage against the best that wanted to try.

Runners only attempted 1,370 during that same time span. The next team on that list ,The Diamondbacks, had 1,883 stolen base attempts.

@@garretttiedje3994 I'd say, the most intuitive and talented catcher of all time to be honest. Lots of people say, look at what they do, not what they say. Yadier has to be the MOST in tune catcher in baseball. If it wasn't a compeition, Yadier would make it a sport.

I would argue best catcher in mlb at one point not even just the cards. The man was also team captain. Amd gave alot back to his family amd charity. All around one of the greatest players to play the game.

So many non highlights of him in here. But Yadi was always a boss behind the plate, don't think they ...... MLB will ever have another catcher like him.

As much as I despise the Cardinals as a Reds fan I still give much respect and props to Yadier Moline as an excellent catcher and he definitely deserves to be a 1st ballot HOF no questions asked

Yadi’s favorite Bible verse: “Thou shalt not steal.” Best catcher of all time (IMO)

If they were still doing amazing sports movies, Yadi would be an amazing casting choice.

This guy saved Mozeliak job.. without him he doesn’t cover up all the terrible trades and signings over the years… now with him gone they are in the shitter…

You are unfortunately correct! Hopefully Moze's days are numbered. I love the Cards but the only way for him to be ousted is for them to do poorly this year and next

7:28 how is that a best Yadi moment? Regardless, I miss him and wish he would replace Marmol already. Go Cards!
