Do you know what REALLY happened? Phillies fans went after Mattress Mack. When they did that, they made literally every human being in Houston mad. The wrath of the city came down on Philadelphia. From game 4 on the series was over. In any case, Go Astros!

Being a Mets fan and rooting for the astros has gotten many of my classmates to call me a bandwagon, not a “real New Yorker”, and overall shocked that I’m rooting for them in New York but I of course find this bs cause as a Mets fan how can I not root for the astros? They beat the Yankees, so of course I rooted for them. It would’ve been the same for the guardians if they pulled it off. I find it funny how all these yankee fans expect me to root for both Ny teams just cause I’m from the state. I’m a Mets fan, not a yankee fan, and apparently this makes be a bandwagon and not a “real New Yorker.” Great season astros, and great postseason. Glad you won

It was a sweet postseason for Astros fans and they deserve it. They have been the best team in baseball in the last 7 years and they are positioned to be a contender for a few more years with the way they are set up
@drbryant23
@drbryant23 Жыл бұрын
They deserve this one. 2017 is tainted because of the cheating. No one in the history of baseball cheated like the 2017 Astros. The statistics tell the story. Yu Darvish has the highest career K rate among righthanded pitchers in MLB history (!), and against the Astros in June (before the cheating system was implemented), he held them to one hit in 7 innings. But in the World Series, with the cheating, the Astros only had ONE swing and miss at an offspeed pitch. If you understand baseball, you know that's statistically highly improbable. Yes, it really wasn't possible against a team that stole signs throughout the postseason, resulting in statistical anomalies that the baseball world has never seen. A team where (with the sole exception of 40 year old Beltran) every single player improved OPS from 2016 to 2017, and the players with the worst career stats saw the most improvement (Jake Marisnick and Marwyn Gonzalez improved by over +200). I do respect Jose Altuve- I think he is very talented and according to Correa, Altuve was disgusted by the cheating, and got angry when teammates tried to feed him signs. But the fact of the matter is that he had the best year of his career in 2017. It's a massive advantage. Imagine not having to read scouting reports or watch films late at night, trying to figure out pitcher tendencies. In fact, you don't even need to scout opposing pitchers - a huge advantage over teams that were trying to compete honestly. No wonder they were cheating all season, even against teams that lost 100 games, like the White Sox and the Mariners. At that point, it's not even baseball any more. It's some other game.

The Astros were the true team of destiny this year. Big moment after big moment all season and postseason long.. Combined no hitter in Yankee stadium, Dusty 2k wins, Pena stepping up in place of Correa with first rookie SS gold glove, JV historic comeback to win a cy young, Bregman and Altuve back at MVP leve production, King Tuck establishes himself as an All Star including a gold glove, etc etc and postseason destiny.. Yordan two out 3 run walk off bomb in ALDS and 3 run world championship winning bomb, (and they were BOMBS), 18th inning marathon win, sweep of Yanks, JV first WS win, Mancini clutch defense, Chas historic leaping catch, Pena two MVP series as a ROOKIE with huge October Correa shoes to fill, 11-2 record, Dusty gets his first chip, Mattress Gangsta Mack officially becoming the King of Houston while counting his $75 mil, WS combined no hitter, most total strikeouts in WS history with 71 in six games and one of the most dominant all around postseason pitching we have ever witnessed if not the very best.... Congrats to the Stros. They earned this one for sure and I'm glad a team from our division won it. You steamrolled over my Mariners...

I wouldn't call winning by a grand total of +4 runs over 3 games "steamrolled". I see the Mariners on their way up and it'll be nice to have some competition in the division for a change. I don't see Justin Verlander returning because with so many other quality Astros pitchers under contract for 2023, they're not going to be willing to match what other teams are going to offer him.

Astro fan who was rooting for the Mariners (And the Blue Jays) to make it to the playoffs last season AND this season. Glad both teams made it this year but really crushed you guys had to fight it out with each other (and then ofc fight the Astros as your prize). Still, you gave as good as you got, and the ALDS was more competitive than the ALCS. I think the Mariners will be around for a good while now, and probably will trade the AL W division crown back and forth with the Astros a bit (like it seemed the A's were going to start to do in 2020 before the bottom fell out for them with all the new stadium/team sale drama).

This Astros team was so good it could have advanced & won another round even after the World Series and to leave no doubt in the minds of the Terminally Foolish they absolutely destroyed the Yankees during the season AND in the playoffs. Philly was great, but this was the first time I have ever seen a 450ft home run turn an entire team into a pumpkin.

When we lost 2 world series’s against the Nationals and Braves, I was broken. I was so sad and pretty depressed about it. I thought that we would choke another one against the Phillies, but that wasn’t the case. When Kyle Tucker made that catch, I was happier than anyone else. I was literally yelling “YES” and jumping around like a kangaroo 😂

Hey, I’m old school, but I don’t mind the game evolving.. And I don’t speak up too often.. However, I just don’t understand how you are 3 outs from elimination, you’re down 3 runs, and 3 different batters swing at the first pitch they see?.. You gotta take until a strike is thrown there.. Especially Harper and Castellanos.. Inexcusable..
