One of the most beautiful things about baseball being a slow game, is that it allows for moments of ceremony without it seeming to be interrupting with the flow of things. It is a game where the crowd and the players are allowed to interact in a genuine relationship, and give each other gifts of appreciation and farewells. Baseball is a beautiful game.

Man, I remember watching Adrian Beltre's first game being home from schoo sick from school against the angels. His first attempt bat was an RBI double. Loved him through his dodger years but felt he underachieved until his free agent year, then he went on to Seattle then Boston for one year, then stayed with the Rangers for the remainder of his years. I will always remember him as a young lion in the Dodgers. Even though his memorable years came later after he left Seattle (let's be honest anyone not name Griffey or Ichiro isn't remembered there), he will always be a Dodger product IMO. Good career Adrian and I'm sorry the ownership was crappy as the time and by the time it wasn't crappy you already found a home.

Felix Hernández is great, but let's all be honest, outside of the pacific northwest, he doesn't get all the praise he would as if he would have if he played for an east coast team. Lets all jist be honest as sports fans from the left coast.

Still to this day I have posters of David Wright and Jose Reyes in my man cave. I got them when I was 8 years old as a lifelong Mets fan. I remember playing with those 2 guys nonstop in MLB 07 the show. They unknowingly both have me so many good memories.

The clickbaity use of the word "retiring" was not your best moment.

Damián "el Salsuero" They mean they are saying goodbye to THEIR fans of THAT fan base of THEIR TEAM

@@impittsburghpiratesfandont7867 Yeah. It doesn't make as much sense when the video uploader changes words after the fact, now does it? The video originally said they were RETIRING. But thanks for that correction. Totally worth your time, wasn't it?

As a long islander, I grew up a mets fan watching David Wright play. It kinda felt like he was gonna be there forever. Seeing an icon like him say goodbye really got me a bit teary eyed. I'm gonna miss you captain!

@@impittsburghpiratesfandont7867 I'm pretty sure they edited the title at some point in the 2 months that have passed since I posted that comment. If you read other comments, you'll see other people saying "Uh, so and so isn't retiring..." and similar stuff.

There’s a lot of great players hanging it up this year. I remember the last time I played baseball it’s not a good feeling knowing you’ll never play again.

Seeing the marlins players clap for David and Braves, nationals, and yankees fans celebrate the career of david wright brings a tear to my eye and reminds me why baseball is the greatest sport. It doesnt matter how big the rivalry is and im glad baseball fans realize that. I truly love and have a new respect for the NL east and yankees.
