Ahmed's ejection (11:00): He 's being guided away by a coach, but can't resist turning back for one more outburst -which sounded to me like the magic word from "Bull Durham". Announcers, "He was walking away, with his back to the umpire, and he was thrown out of the game." (I wonder if their contracts are coming up for renewal.)

Repeat with Souza's ejection (about 29:00). Amazing how the announcer misses the turned head and shoulders as Souza, like Ahmed, can't resist that parting shot that gets them ejected.

And repeat with Harper. Big hint guys: if you turn your head to make sure the umpire hears that last comment, the umpire *will* hear it. Congratulations, you just earned your ejection.

I hate when the ump tries to play Buddy Buddy then throws the player out. I know what would happen but I would love to throw a right hook sometimes. I have seen the ump belly bump the player but dont try that as a player. I believe there should be a process to remove a bad ump in the game, ump ejection. Maybe a coach can override an ejection?

@fleetlordavtar Could not agree any more. The players are far overpaid and seem to think they are something special. The league should adapt a rule that i they are thrown out of a game $100.000 a minute fine should be incurred after one minute of being on the field after being ejected. Hit these overpaid clowns in the pocketbook.

This is why Replay needs to be implemented more in the area of calling check swings, balls and strikes. And Umpires cannot have the authority of just ejecting a player. I'm sick of umps being unquestioned. At least NFL refs talk things over and allow for appeal. They make so many mistakes and are NOT HELD ACCOUNTABLE for them.

You're a fucking idiot. The gesture that you're referring to was him saying that the umpire made two bad calls, hence why you could read his lips say twice as soon as he held them up. And 4-13 ain't a balk either, at least not one the home plate umpire had the angle on; Which is why Verlander and the coach were pissed. How is so many baseball announcers don't know that where the ball hits the catchers mitt is irrelevant? The only thing that matters is where the ball crosses the plane of the plate. MLB pitchers have a lot of movement on their pitches so very rarely will the ball be in the place when it hits the catchers mitt as it was when it crossed the plate.

On average 20% of all calls in a single game are called wrong. I love baseball but SOMETHING has to be done about umpires. In reality we have the technology to be rid of umpires entirely, going this route no player or coach could ever complain about the strike zone or a bad call ever again. Well, I'm not taking up for the , mostly ex major league baseball announcers, but if you're not showing up the ump, which no one PAID to come see, I tend to agree with the EX PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL PLAYERS.
@blacktimhoward4322
@blacktimhoward4322 5 жыл бұрын
That point is irrelevant and I'm tired of hearing it. The ump's job is to eject a player if he violates any of a long list of rules. The fact that people paid to see a player has no bearing on an ump's decision, because the rulebook gives it no bearing. If the people are upset they don't get to see the player they paid for, they should be mad at the player for breaking that rule in the first place. If an ump ignores an ejectable offense because people like that player, he is in fact ignoring the job he was hired to do. The 'I want to see X so I deserve to see X' mentality is childish
@billevans6521
@billevans6521 5 жыл бұрын
@@blacktimhoward4322 see you serious? Rules are broken, stretched , and misinterpreted in almost every day of a LONG BASEBALL season. They have discretion on every,on most every decision they make. It's their egos,which they should have "ZERO", that make them, more often than not, toss someone.. I agree wholeheartedly if a player is showing up the ump, you gone, absolutely no problem with that , bad for the young and future players. But if he gets thrown out with back turned walking away and doesn't make any bold movements that is strictly umpire ego.

The players and coaches eject themselves about 99.9% of the time. They know exactly what they can and can't say. They know exactly what they can and can't argue. Being a baseball umpire at ANY level is a difficult job. The plate umpire might see 300 pitches or more in a nine inning game. Those stupid strike zone boxes ARE. NOT. THE. ACTUAL. STRIKE. ZONE. They should get rid of them. A pitch can move two or more feet in the last 10 feet before the catcher catches it. The strike zone is a 3-dimensional box. Those television boxes are 2-dimensional. Those television boxes show you where, in relation to the box, where the catcher catches it, not where it goes through the actual strike zone. Also, that television box doesn't change size for each batter. It's the same whether the batter is 5'8" or 6'5".
