Like the change, quality is always what should be sought after. People wanting to learn and see how yall figure things out will be better in New format. Watching someone stare at livescope all day is not teaching anyone anything, just my opinion.

I love the change! As someone that’s fishing BFLs and starting my journey to the BPT in 2023 it makes the change easier all the way from BFLs up to BPT

I liked the every fish counts format as it was different than all the other tournaments. It was exciting to see how an angler could move up or down the leader board quickly. Will be interesting to see the change in strategy and who doesn’t do as well under the previous scoring format. I’m sure it will make a difference depending on anglers fishing styles. Should still be fun with JT calling the play by play and BPT has the best live coverage out there. Hope to make it to the Kissimmee Chain in Feb to cheer you guys on

This is a good idea to get more viewers, I'm hard-core as they come in watching fishing for years, and 5 fish is king but watching mlf and the bpt , it was always exciting, But watching you come from behind in both the classics with 5 giant fish is what's its about

Man I wish I can fish professionally I love the bass fish but the only thing I have right now is a kayak but I am trying to save up money to get me another truck and a boat but hopefully one day I get to Fish some tournaments where I live

I always thought you’d excel even more these past few years if it were 5 fish! I like how they aren’t zeroing the weights for the final day too, takes a little of the luck out of it. Good to see some positive changes on the mlf side, now for payouts to go up🙏

I understand peoples frustrations and mixed feelings about the change from the every fish counted to 5 biggest/best. 1. If you’ve been around fishing and tournaments for any period of time 5 best is really all you’ve known 2. However, if you’ve gotten accustomed to and preferred the every fish counts format there will be something for everyone. Both scoring formats will still be in use.

I was hoping for a hybrid schedule, 4 catch all u can, and 4 five fish events….. I will say this levels the playing field, no more jerkbait/drop shot Livescopers running away with every event

I feel as if this comes as a last niche effort to make this successful and profitable. Maybe I’m looking at this change completely wrong… but as a business owner I wouldn’t change a part of the routine of what separated me from the “other company” unless the business is bleeding and I have to figure out a way to pay the bills. I feel like a majority of the anglers at the BPT level are going to look at this and think why do this any longer? Why not try to go compete for the biggest title in professional fishing (which still is the classic, no question about it. I know that redcrest is only three years in but it just doesn’t have the same feeling as the classic). Everything that was publicly publicized about no entry fees and this revolutionary circuit has basically been turned back into the elites that all of you all left… I just really don’t understand Boyd and never will. I’d personally love to see you back competing for a classic. The first thing I think of when I see Jordan Lee is Dave Mercer saying UnBeLeeeevable. I just can’t imagine not think that! Either way good luck man!

Agreed. Now they are just like BASS except for hauling fish around and culling. At least they aren't doing that. But recreational fisherman go out trying to catch as many fish as possible. That made watching MLF different and more fun to watch. I know I won't watch as much now.

How does this format change the strategy? With every fish counts, it seemed like you had to have a group of fish to last potentially 4 days and generate enough bites to catch 20 fish a day. With this format you really might only need to catch 25 fish the whole tournament. With "culling" smaller fish. The every fish counts format was, to me, more exciting to watch due to the additional strategy.

Honestly... from the outside looking in it may seem that way but I’ve never had a group of fish last more than two days. Very rarely . All I think that changes now is guys adjusting to catch bigger than average fish to win a event.

I think MLF took a big step backwards and it will hurt them financially and will loose fans. For three years I have been watching on live stream and have spent hours watching the exciting every fish counts. Even attended the Red crest championship in Oklahoma at Grand lake. Now I have no interest in watching at all. The president of the anglers said the anglers wanted the change because a few anglers like Jacob and DC were to hard to beat in the all fish counts format.

I really like the 5 fish format. Unfortunately, like all pro fishing, I refuse to watch in any format until there is a technology limit put into the rules banning foward facing sonar and 360 sonar. Its boring and takes a lot of skill out of bass fishing. I understand that as long as one has it all must use it to remain competitive. That is the tournament organizers fault and if more people who are opposed to said sonar would quit watching on tv and internet, they will be forced to ban it and cap technology where it was prior to either FFS or 360 was allowed.

This is awesome, now if watching it was easier to figure out.....MLF is very hard to follow for me, and I get tired of trying to figure it out. So what happens is, I check the final round and if one of my favorites ain't in it,I just don't watch. Good luck in 23, and we all know that JLee will be more excited than most for the best 5 format.....MLF broadcast "OH, Jordan Lee with another 5 lber.."

This is weak. As a fan, at the highest level of bass fishing the every fish format is what made me a fan of MLF/BPT over the BASS elites. Now it doesn't really matter and there is no real draw to one over the other. It's literally watching 2 organizations do the same thing on the same bodies of water at different times. Bummer.

Every fish counts format reached a large audience, MLF is going to lose a lot of followers that aren't tournament fishermen. The edge of the seat excitement will be gone and so will a lot of spectators.

Joshua, jacob did really good in elites. If you look he won 2/3 of the last 5 fish events he fished. This is to bring unity to all the leagues that MLF owns. Bfl/Toyota/invitationals. I have done really well in this format 2nd overall in 4 years only to jacob. I think we will be able to entertain with the new team series and educate with 5 fish. Thanks for keeping up!

Two Events in, personally I think it Sucks. Stopped watching Red Crest into Day 2. Guys getting up to 12 lbs then quit fishing. Before you had to keep fishing to stay ahead.

I think BPT wants so bad to be able to bring their fish back to a stage and weigh in front of fans. They just don’t want to be like Bass. This in my opinion is just a baby step towards that. I know people like the original BPT format but I have seen many many many polls online and five fish being weighed on the stage always wins.
