i think it's for the best. Sawyer reminded her of her father, that was spoken in the show by Kate herself. if she ended up with him, it's likely she'd just repeat her mother's fate. we don't know much about her father, but it's not unplausible that he was once a good man, judging by the fact that her mother loved him more than her own daughter and never forgave her for killing him, even after her miraculous return. Kate and Sawyer are very similar in a lot of ways and understand each other like no one else does, but they aren't good for each other because they unwillingly bring up and encourage the worst parts of their personalities.

Sawyer was broken after losing Juliet and the scene at the dock, when he tossed the ring was symbolic good bye with his past with Kate also. Well at least I want to believe they were decent enough to just stay friends 😂

It's simple. Kate and Sawyer are soul mates. They have deep feelings for each other and love, for example, a caged scene where it was their true selves with true feelings. They have connections like no other, they've been through similar shit in their lifetimes, and relationships with Jack and Juliet were just a needed stop on their way to being together. Sawyer's break gave him qualities that Kate admired in Jack hence leadership and responsibility, so when Kate came back, Sawyer had everything Kate wanted from him. And Kate stopped running. When Sawyer jumped from the helicopter, he rescued Kate so she could get to the ship safely, but the fact is neither of them were ready for a relationship at the time. And Kate didn't quite believe him at the time, but when they're at the end of the cliff they're ready for life together, they trust each other and jump together this time. Sawyer and Juliet broke up because Sawyer loves Kate more than Juliet. Juliet knew as soon as Kate got back to the island that Sawyer still loved Kate and didn't believe him. And her hunch was definitely confirmed by Bernardo's speech, and she broke up with him. Although Sawyer considered marrying Juliet, something was holding him back and that was Kate and after Kate returned to the island so Sawyer didn't want to marry Juliet anymore. Sawyer had always loved Kate, and from the moment Kate returned, you could see that his heart was going out to Kate. That conversation between Sawyer and Kate in that dock was a classic of theirs, when they couldn't say what they really wanted. And Kate and Jack didn't get back together until three years later. They were engaged, but it took less than a week because Jack was obsessed with the island and jealous of Sawyer, because he saw that Kate still loved Sawyer (a token of kindness to Sawyer that was more important to her than her relationship with Jack) plus Jack started drinking and taking pills and was a bad influence on Aaron, who was extremely important to Kate because Kate kept Aaron to fill sawyer's hole. She finally gave Aaron back to his grandmother after talking to Cassidy. Kate has always loved Sawyer. Overall, Jack and Juliet wanted Kate and Sawyer on a leash to do whatever they wanted. And they don't respect their bad side of character. Both Kate and Sawyer parted ways with Jack and Juliet the same way they kissed them and said "I love you," but that wasn't meant to be loved at the time. It was meant that they sometimes loved them and they also meant it as a thank you that they were there for them when they lost someone they loved. When Kate was on the island she loved Sawyer and she just liked Jack in a friendly way. Kate only loved Jack when she was off the island, but she still loved Sawyer, and the love for Sawyer was stronger. Kate is just like her mother in her heart she fell in love with the bad boy who became a good person. Season 6 sees Sawyer and Kate having the same moments from the previous series. And they're doing things together again and rebuilding their relationship. In short, Jacob chose both of them when they were kids, they both didn't have a good childhood, they killed a man, they saw each other's animals (a black horse, a boar) plus Sawyer is such a dark horse in Kate's heart (just like you have in some tournament, black horses), a cage scene where their true selves were with true feelings, both divided by time and space, both of whom were with someone they didn't really want to be with, their numbers 15( Sawyer) and 51( Kate)are mirrored. And when you compare the scenes from episodes 3x03 (where they're at the airport) and 6x16 (where they're at the beach), they're always standing there together and when you look at that scene from the beach so Jack (the island's savior), Hurley (jacob's successor), Sawyer and Kate (a couple of the island), the only couple to leave the island and have as their only romantic song throughout the show. Simply SKATE is FATE. So I'd like to say to the JATE AND SULIET fans, those couples fell apart and Jack and Juliet died, but just so you didn't cry so the show's creators created a side story for you. But for us fans, the story of SKATE lasts from the beginning of the show to the end, we just need to think about it more and put the pieces together. We have Kate and Sawyer alive, and they're flying off the island in the direction of their future together, they just need to work on communication. #SKATEFOREVER,#SKATEISFATE ❤❤❤

@@Goldgren70 am a skate fan i alrady finished season 3 so i couldn’t hold my self and i went to see if skate will happen at the end and i found a lot of talks about it and the church with kate pregnant of jack attracted me to think that jate will happen but skate won’t so that made this made me feel depressed and think about canceling the series because their relationship was the relationship they focused on the most in the series and the relationship most full of feelings and the series will go in a another way after season 4 but I didn’t understood what you meant by side stories

Kate was never pregnant with anyone, but she wanted to have a baby with Sawyer. But as I wrote before, we Skate fans need to think more about the story, because Skate never ended.

Sooo.. I just watched the show for the first time in my life. Did a rewatch because I thought I was stupid not to get the things everyone has been pushing but I came to the conclusion that people just can't analyse. Kate was actually in love with Sawyer. When she escaped the island, she started taking care of Aaron for some reason instead of finding relatives of his and working a way to give him to them. She then goes to Cassidy who is the only one who can see through her and tell her she has just gone through a heartbreak because of Sawyer. Kate even tried to develop her relationship with Jack after that but it quickly failed (I'm pretty sure she was trying to forget Sawyer like that). And then the show again shows us a moment between Kate and Cassidy who tells her that she used Aaron as a coping mechanism to try and heal her heart. That's when Kate realized she wasn't supposed to use the kid like that, and she felt obligated to find Claire. She left Aaron with his grandma, and being devastated, she slept with Jack. I feel like her second agenda for coming back to the island was trying to find Sawyer and patch things up again because she never recovered from the heartbreak. I don't know how the writers just kept pushing the idea that she and Jack were soulmates. Maybe that was only in Jack's head 😅

To me what makes sense, is when people bring out the good in others. Which Juliette did for Sawyer and Jack for Kate. Both made their significant other not want to run anymore. So Kate/Jack and Juliette/Sawyer made way more sense to me.

@@dakota7314 I'll allow myself to react to you. It was Kate who was the first and only one to see Sawyer not as an arrogant son of a bitch, but as a man who hides more than he shows. Kate was bringing out the bright side in Sawyer, not the easy part, of course, but slowly making him a better person. So Juliet changed it, too, but she was getting a lot lighter. And I would like to say that Sawyer and Juliet's relationship failed on the first issue and it was that Sawyer still loved Kate, he even looked for her those 3 years together with Jin looking for Sun, all behind Juliet's back, so it's not entirely true that Sawyer didn't have the desire to run away from Juliet, he did, and Juliet has seen it since Kate got back to the island. That's not how she trusted Sawyer. And when I get into Kate and Jack's relationship, it's also broken down because Kate loves Sawyer and also because Jack was obsessed with the island and started taking pills, the relationship lasted a week. Kate was made more by Aaron no longer running, who was also filling sawyer's hole. For me, Kate felt so much better and free with Sawyer, she knew Sawyer wouldn't look at her as a murderer and she'd take her as an equal. Obviously it wasn't always perfect with Sawyer, but which relationship is it. And it makes a lot more sense to me Kate and Sawyer both went through their problems in their lifetimes before the island and created walls around their hearts and unknowingly gradually got through each other's walls. But that's how everyone has an opinion and perspective on it, which is good, otherwise it would be boring in the world if we had the same opinions. And I certainly don't want to argue with you here. I already had a fight with one person here, and it wasn't worth it. So peace and love ♥ 😅😅😅

I have a feeling you just love Kate/Sawyer ( which is totally legit!!) and are telling things to support that, not the way it actually was in the show. There was never a single moment where Kate wanted to be an official item with Sawyer. He tried multiple times, she always rejected. She only ever had a physical relationsship with him which more often than not happened as a result of being upset (most of the time cause of Jack) which Sawyer himself points out. She used him most of the time to comfort herself, not saying she didn't love him just that it wasn't enough. We can agree to disagree though 🤗 just a show after all

I don't agree either. In S3E6, they admitted their feelings to each other after sleeping together, and in the mean time the show goes to tell us the story about her marriage and what went wrong there. She got scared because she found out she was pregnant by a person who doesn't know who she actually is. James accepted her as she is from day one. He never rejected her or called her for being a murderer. She was ok with the thought of having a baby with him. But because he got scared by that thought, he sort of pushed her away a bit, hence broke her heart. If they had spent those 3 years together but not apart, things would have been waaay different. That's why the show separated them because it was obvious where things were going.

i've been rewatching and i got to say i'm not that mad anymore about them not being endgame... i guess it's all about perspective and the fact that we got so many skate scenes make up for it tbh. like, s3, the second half of s5 until almost the end of s6 is FULL of them. and you can just tell that evie and josh's friendship plays such a big part on why this ship is so good.. these two are naturals, their chemistry translates so welll on screen. like i can always go back and watch the series and ignore the canon ending. in my reality, these two are endgame! anw, this is such a gorgeous compilation of their moments! thanks for posting op

Im rewatching Lost for the first time after the finale in 2010 that I despised. Im going on through season 1 and the build up of Kate and Sawyer is so amazing, the chemistry is so huge. Kate is always walking on eggshells around Jack, she wants his approval so desperately. I think Kate loved them both, just like Sawyer loved Juliet.

Je reste très frustrée des années plus tard de ce final. J'aurais vraiment aimé que leur histoire puisse continuer. No they didn't. He wanted to marry someone else and when she died he tried to not so subtly get back with kate and she told him to take a flying **** in not so many words. This show ruined them.

The thing is rewatching the show you can tell it was always Jack and Kate. Even with she was with Sawyer, she was looking for Jack. I think Kate was afraid to love Jack, not feeling like she deserved him. But with Sawyer they were so similar, that while they had great chemistry they were not a good match. Jack and Kate balanced each other out.

That's how we looked at something different. I, on the other hand, saw that Kate and Jack's relationship was never going to be a good match. Jack never accepted Kate's bad aspects of her character and had a need to run her life and, when he didn't have his way, he was nasty to Kate and shouted at her. It was Sawyer who took her for what she is. Kate treats Jack more like a friend she likes but doesn't love. Kate and Sawyer love each other deeply, even after 3 years, they just have a communication problem. Kate's heart has belonged to Sawyer since that first kiss and after reading the letter. And Sawyer's heart at the same moment belongs to Kate. And talk of not being able to function because they're too much the same is nonsense. That's why they can work, because no one else can understand them.

I’m watching this show for the first time ever. And just half way through the seasons, the writers made a great foundation for Kate and Sawyer. Both are attracted to each other and accepted the bad one has done. Where with Jack, I think Kate sees him as the leader, as he appointed himself to be. Hence, she comes to him because of that. Kate and Sawyer cared for each other since day 1 despite their bickering. I think both were just afraid to say they love each other but their actions did. Can’t wait to finish the series, although I already know they’re not the endgame, still Kate and Sawyer for me. I’m prepared to be heartbroken on the ending haha

@@notheragain9572 She's not done with Jack, those flash sideways aren't the real world. Jack died on the island and Kate flew sawyer and other people off the island, that's the reality. And Jack is not her true love. Sawyer is her true love, even after three years she hasn't stopped loving him. Jack only had a chance to be with Kate when Sawyer was in a different time period and still Jack and Kate's relationship broke down due to Kate's love for Sawyer. And it was the same between Sawyer and Juliet. Kate and Sawyer are always drawn together, physically and mentally connected. So don't try some nonsense here about Jack being her true love.

Those flash sideways aren't the real world, it's just a fabrication for Jate fans not to cry, it doesn't even make sense, and it also feels like Jack's dream. Endgame is Sawyer and Kate is on a flight from the island, Jack and Juliet are dead. And true love is Sawyer and Kate and to be happy in life they need each other. I've never seen Kate so happy with Jack. With Sawyer, Kate feels the most fortunate, Kate can be herself, and no one will tend to control her life and keep telling her what to do and what not to do. And that same relationship Sawyer and Juliet, Juliet has a need to run Sawyer's life, too. Take the scene in the cages it was Sawyrera and Kate's rawest feelings and their true selves, there they dropped walls around their hearts that they had created in their lifetimes, not a moment I had seen in Jack and Kate or Sawyer and Juliet. Look, obviously we have a different view and perspective, so there's no point in wasting time arguing, you're not going to change my mind anyway, I'm going to be Skater forever. There's a real world and an unrealistic world in that season 6 series (the so-called flash sideways). And you'd cry if they didn't create flash sideways for you in season 6, the funny thing is that you still cry under different Skate videos and write hate comments etc. I wonder why you go to Skate videos when you're so convinced of your point of view. Sawyer and Kate's relationship, if you wanna call it that, was never healthy. It wasn't normal relationship. Despite their genuine affection they saw and brought out the worst parts in each other. Kate always used Sawyer to reach out to Jack and Sawyer knew it. Sawyer was never actually in love with her. I think he wanted to believe that he was because he wanted to believe that he's capable of feeling love. He really cared about her but he never trusted or respected her. He conned her many times and she used him out of pity. Sawyer was infatuated with Kate which burned out very quickly. Juliet is the only woman whom Sawyer has ever truly loved. He always respected her even when he didn't trust her. He was attracted to her since the moment he saw her but to him she was an Other. So it was a total stalemate for him. He was attracted to someone whom he thought posed a threat to survivors. But once they got stuck in Time Travel, they learned to rely on one another because their lives depended on it. Sawyer quickly realized that Juliet is so much more than meets the eye, he found comfort in her and felt safe with her. The moment when he begged her not to leave him was when he fell in love with her. He knew his life would better when they're together.
