Happy to help! Yes, absolutely you can and that's how the game has it intended, but also I need to point out how little (few pieces) they bring back compared to the salary price you have to pay and micromanage this all the time :D I found it more distracting and cumbersome - but yes, it's doable! Thank you for mentioning this ;)

Also dishes set to auto take longer to prepare which hurts your profits. I use a mixed menu with 1 or 2 dishes set to auto and fill out the rest with my most expensive recipes. The tropical sushi set is a great one to focus on in the early game.

Good video. I sort of disagree about passing on foods because you need them to make the special dishes to make money later in the game. I was losing money just making plain sushi. I'm hiring staff just to dispatch so I can get those items. But different people different ways.

@@MLMariss From this point yes. But I don't see a downside, that it takes long to open the pot, as you usually do not lose breathing air in this time and can fill it up again. But this is maybe just another playstyle :). I don't care if my divetrips takes a bit longer.

I was going to mention this - only difference is the playthrough time! I have a bad habit to lose interest (because of grind) in game and leave them around 60-70% of competition, so I make these changes (and suggestions) for playthrough so they don't become boring, long and gaming fatigue doesn't run out :D But right you are - if you enjoy the hell out of it, then there is no reason to rush/skip anything ;)

Great video, a few extra tips: 1. Put only one of each dish on the menu and set all the dishes on the menu to Auto-supply, that way the ingredients are only used when it is ordered and nothing has to be thrown away. If its not ordered/used it simply stays in your inventory, the game does not explain this at all. 2. Do not level up the restaurant immediately as soon as you can, for example going from Gold to Platinum you will be charged 2,010 coins in 'Operating cost' every night so it is better to stay Gold a bit longer and use that money to level up your staff first. 3. All the people you hired are in the Waiting room and since you have to pay them anyway, you better let them work for it: you can Dispatch them to get seasoning like soy sauce, salt, turmeric, curry block and so on. Their Procure level indicates how good they are at getting seasoning. It will not cost you anything extra and you get free ingredients every day. 4. (spoiler ahead) The Atlantic Bonito is very rare and can be extremely hard to find, it occasionally spawns on the left side of the map around 100 meters deep just a little below the yellow ship wreck. You can sometimes see another wreck there with a mast and crows nest, the Bonito is a small silver fish usually in a group of 3. In my experience they can only be found once every 2 or 3 days. Thanks for the video and have fun everyone!

@@MLMariss I have one 2-star Bonito in my fish tank and I am trying to get another one so they can multiply but have not seen that fish in a very long time. But I remember I caught the first one in that area, to the right of the yellow ship. All those small silver fish look alike but if you catch them all with a net gun you will one day catch the Bonito. If you are looking for the White Shrimp, there is almost always one in the Glacial Passage in the room with the mirror. If you don't see it at first leave to the room on the left and then come back in. It almost always spawns there and it's the easiest way to get it. Have fun, it's a great game!

@@ingeborgsvensson4896 If you care about efficiency use auto supply dynamically on your menu during the serving night. Put up whatever ingredient limited item you want to sell (ex tropical fish sushi) only on the menu at the start of the night. Once that sells down to say 3-5 servings, hit 1 which brings up your serving menu again and add on an auto supply dish (likely one you're close to maxxing) to ensure you sell out of that first item. You never want to auto supply a dish that makes multiple servings (ex shark head) as it'll likely waste 3+ servings. Auto supply always wastes 1 serving.
@MLMariss
@MLMariss Жыл бұрын
Not a big fan of auto supply - easier and faster for me is to know the size of dishes I can serve, set up the exact amount of most expensive, if there is room left add second next dish, and repeat until reach max dish serving. In most cases it's 1 or 2 dishes per night, per menu :D easy, simple and without micro-management and watching/checking how many what's when is left..and again - everyone has their ways of doing ;)

I gen should I feel comfortable upgrading my ranking in Cooksta? I have one extra worker in kitchen and one extra in dining room and sometimes it still feels weird a struggling to keep up on busy nights. How much does upgrading increase the customer business traffic? Is there am average nightly minimum I should be making/meeting before I upgrade the ranking? I don’t know any to do it too early and set myself up to fail. I’m playing at a slower pace with no rush so if it’s going to be too challenging and stressful I’d be very happy to keep going with my current ranking until I am more prepared. But if nothing really changes then I will upgrade now. Thank you!

@@psycheout4733 uh 50:50 means 50% which means that's exactly what RNG is. And unless it's a specific formula that calculates supply level into the choices, it's extremely simple rng to understand. If there are 2 choices on the menu, 50% a customer will pick each. 4 choices then each choice has a 25% chance.
@psycheout4733
@psycheout4733 Жыл бұрын
@@nicholaskinkaid 50:50 means 1:1. RNG means while there's technically a 50% chance, by no means do you end up with a 50:50 outcome. There's a massive difference between the two. This is why you try not to auto supply early because the dish you WANT to sell out may not sell out as RNG may have 3 auto supply dishes sold for every 1 of the recipe you want to sell as a priority. Basic statistics here, 50% chance doesn't mean 50 rolls out of 100 in practice.
@nicholaskinkaid
@nicholaskinkaid Жыл бұрын
@@psycheout4733 50;50 is not 1;1. The 50;50 are literal percentage points of something. So in this case, if you have 2 items on the menu then customers have a 50% chance to choose option A and 50% chance to choose option B. 1;1 doesn't make sense as a % because then that means you're saying customers have a 1% (or 100%) chance to choose option A, and a 1% (or 100%) chance to choose option B. Neither % amounts make sense. What *I think* you may be referring to is 'One to One' which means choice A is essentially the same as choice B. So example would be: You're needing to buy cough medicine. You're at the store and see 2 options. Option A is a cheaper generic brand that is identical to the more expensive name brand option B. 1 to 1 has nothing to do with RNG nor %.

@@MLMariss ... This much justification over not passing on things you're already encountering...? This is a new low for trying to give life lessons about picking up some stuff in a game? As for the grind, do you not understand you're playing the game 2x more than I am because I can pick up stuff as I encounter it? Hence why you're playing months longer into the actual game? The bigger picture here is you seemingly NEED to be the authority on the subject. Who's the one who needs to make excuses for NOT doing some VERY basic things that take little to no extra time? I think you should take a look in that mirror for the same advice you're trying to give, especially since you're the one trying to make a living being a game authority - that's not me. I'd argue against 'extremely early' as farm is not then introduced yet :) And also you ignore the fact teleports exist - once you got those you can get there easy and skip all the 'deep diving' ;) But yea - I loved that recipe! Just another viewpoint in the game... will run down most of your list in your description. 1. High rank big fish Disagree with this. This game really is about specialization and weight to $$ efficiency. The biggest fish, generally, aren't the most profitable for the amount of inventory space they take up. Additionally, even as you progress toward end game you're still struggling to level up your dish while serving it. For much of the game the best items to consistently serve are very lightweight bug net items like the clione. Even just capturing to sell the meat and not to serve in the restaurant yields $750/kg which is one of the highest in the game. Always pick up cliones. 4. Skip food Disagree with this. The red pot ingredients take up so little space (0.1kg) there's little reason not to pick them up when they're available. They're the only way to create truly high price items and you really won't have the money to hire additional staff to consistently forage for these ingredients. Look at the highest priced items and the most efficient $$/kg ratios and you'll see the red pot ingredient recipes all at the top of that list. Additionally most of the one off boss dishes will require these and there's no way to buy the ones you're missing. 6. Dash all the time More preference but until you get a certain aptitude in fighting sharks and a large enough air tank, I wouldn't advise this. Also use the octopus bracelet that gives you a zero cost dash that I found being more effective than any other charm in addition to the pink dolphin charm as mobility reduces damage more than the bracelet and allows you to do everything faster. 13. Skip special dish Partially. There's a few top tier dishes that you want to upgrade and specifically target vegetable sushi. The rest you just utilize while they're level 1 when they top your cost list. Don't upgrade them if you're about efficient play. 26. Tranquilizer gun and rifle Throw in the net gun as well. It's the only way to get multiple schooling fish and in the end game it's the only way to 3 star some species. 29. Always buy new reservoir Just note the eggs you get are 'saved' even if you don't have the reservoir. You just won't get the benefit of reproduction. Few bonuses: Staff: Look at the details when hiring. It shows their highest stats and unlocked skills. The special skills are more important than the highest stats. Ex. Maki, while the highest cooking stat isn't the best in slot for a cook. Staff: In general, if you hire new staff and absorb their cost/expense you want to have enough money on hand to train to level 7 immediately or at least level 3. Cooksta: Don't go past gold rank until you can easily serve the amount of customers per day. Gold allows you access to the highest tier staff with the lowest running costs. Every upgrade in Cooksta increases your expenses.

Oh and another thing is your menu is dynamic through the night. Meaning if you want to ensure an item sells out with no waste, especially for the multi dish recipes (the ones with a number higher than 1 below the recipe next to the bowl and chopsticks), place that one on the menu with a set amount you want to sell and only that and maybe one other item. Then when you see that number get toward say 2 servings left, hit 1 which brings up your menu again, and add more items to your menu to ensure you can serve every customer with a high value dish to make the most out of every dinner service.
@MLMariss

We always love more viewpoints on the games - thank you for this! I see how some of your points work together to make them more efficient, that's great! The money calculation vs kg goes away with one thing - you are limited how many servings you can get every day! Small fish will rarely if ever have a higher price dish as big ones (excluding ingredients). ;) And you gave my peace of mind about those damn reservoirs - was not sure if eggs are collected or not! Now I will sleep in peace at night :D

@@MLMariss The reason why you care about efficiency in $$/kg is you can't serve more than ~40 servings a night even at the highest level. Hence to be efficient you can sell the extra meat to the fish market for VERY little space in your inventory used for more than even prepped shark dishes. It's extremely easy to max recipe level cliones and shrimps in a few dives because they're so common and take up very little space. 10kg of clione represents 300 pieces. 10kg is less than 3 servings for most sharks. Examples: Clione takes 0.1kg inventory and makes 3 pieces and sells at the restaurant for $129 at max level and to the fish market at $25 a piece. This means the value per kg of a clione $3870 in the restaurant and $750 selling the meat alone. Black Tiger Shrimp: .1kg, 3 pieces. $185 served or $17 sold. $5550/kg selling in the restaurant and $510/kg selling to the fish market. Megamouth Shark: 11.5kg per slot, 5 pieces per 2 star. At Lvl 9 (my current level and it takes forever to level) it is $323 plate in the restaurant $31 per piece just selling. This means a minimum value of $13.5/kg selling the fish or a Lvl 9 sold at the restaurant is $140.4/kg Tiger Shark: 15kg per slot, 5 pieces per 2 star. Max level is $185 per plate in the restaurant and $17 per serving selling to the market. Minimum value of $5.7/kg selling the fish or max level sold at the restaurant is $61.7/kg. In both cases you'd make a TON more money filling your entire inventory with cliones and shrimp then selling all of them to the fish market. Being that there's not an unlimited supply of any of these specific ingredients you simply balance both and pick up as many shrimp and cliones as possible every dive while also collecting ingredients for recipes you want to serve in the restaurant to best utilize the ~40 plates you can serve a night. They'll take up less than 5-10kg of inventory per dive are the most valuable for that inventory space regardless of if you serve them or just sell them.
@MLMariss
@MLMariss Жыл бұрын
I see the thought process here, and again we are falling back to the kilograms :D Lemme take your numbers and run once again - let's say at current level you can handle 25 person per night: Clione: $129 per serving = 129 x 25 = $3,225 per day Megamouth Shark: $323 per serving = 323 x 25 = $8,072 per day Clione profit is maxed out at $3,225 where you can server only 10 Megamouth Shark dishes to reach the same (and the sell anything else for rest 15 dishes). How many is 10 dishes? Oh right, 2 sharks. So you see we have the same profit per full bag of farming, grinding and picking all over the place versus go to 2 spots where they spawn and that's it. + I'll let it slide how you downplay sharks with only 2 star dish (the cheap one), where by my guide I show and explain how and why to catch them alive ;) ++ let' s not forget about 15 more dishes of any kind you can sell off with the shark dishes

@@MLMariss Again you're missing the point entirely. You make a bunch of assumptions that are wrong. 1) You assume max level shark is open as soon as max level clione or black shrimp. It's not, it's not by a long shot. You're not getting max level shark until a month plus into the game. You can have max level clione or shrimp literally a few days after you open up the bug net. 2) You ignore the startup costs to shark or any of the other big animals. In order to get it to level 10 recipe, you literally need to sacrifice 200+ samples to the upgrades. That costs weight, the limited number of sharks per dive and which costs time. 3) You ignore that 3 star sharks are only possible post drone AND you're limited to 3 drone pickups a dive for ALL. You're not continuing to upgrade the Tiger Shark while also upgrading the Megamouth, Narwhal and Frilled at the same time. The VAST majority of the shark catches one has while leveling up the recipe is exactly 2 stars and 5 pieces. 4) ANY drone pickup has ZERO weight bearing. It doesn't take up any inventory space. It has a literal infinite $$/kg ratio since they weigh nothing. 5) Let's assume you use all your drone pickups on the sharks you're upgrading. You miss out on taking advantage of the Tuna day and many other celebration days because you're spending your drone catches on the single shark you're upgrading. Even then it's likely another shark unlocks while you're still struggling to upgrade the first shark. 6) Your entire view is about selling the fish in the restaurant. You don't care anything about what WEIGHT requirements to get there which is idiotic as the entire game is about weight management. We're literally talking about the best use of the carry capacity BECAUSE each of these animals are limited spawns. You're NOT filling up your entire inventory with a single shark. So what do you do instead? Pick up some extremely weight efficient items to sell NOT IN THE RESTAURANT. 7) The most expensive dishes AREN'T SHARK ONLY DISHES. So again, trying to farm sharks like you're trying to emphasize ISN'T ideal at all. Vegtable sushi, Seagrapes Jellyfish sushi, tropical fish sashimi are ALL much more valuable than your sharks or "farm big fish only" mentality. Bottom line: NO ONE is trying to compare 10 plates of the more expensive dish is going to make more money than 10 plates of the less expensive dish. That's silly to try and think otherwise. What is being said is yes, you're limited to selling 10 or 25 dishes a night. HOW ELSE DO YOU ADD TO THAT VALUE? 5kg of clione or shrimp to sell directly to the fish market! I don't know why it's so difficult for you to understand there's more than the restaurant as the only revenue stream. Literally in the end game, due to your fish farm, you're swimming in extra fish you NEED to sell off to the fish market and NOT serve in your restaurant.

why is Dave the diver's fan base mostly these no-nonsense straighter-than-a-ruler white dudes 😂 a bit unusual for a restaurant management game

:D Hard to understand that was a compliment or an insult, but thank you?! :D I got a feeling this game attracted everyone! This high rating with such a magnitude is something you have to see to believe ;)

Very much yes - I tried to NOT relay on any recipe where I need to grow something, that part of the game (farming) was not fun :D

I recall making biggest jump in earnings when tuna showed up a bit later :D a lot of them in a group and easy to catch if you locate their swimming pattern (usually swimming in figure 8) and then stand out of their way and attack them on every chance. Just shoot at them and hit one by one - I remember them being pretty durable, but will fall one by one, then collecting them all was greatest catch of them all :D

I went through the game 95% relaying on dishes without any additional ingredient :D Just cooking fish alone, as other pointed out it might not be the most efficient way from money per meat perspective, but the fact that I don't have to deal with any ingredient picking up (ignored all the red pots) and also didn't send couriers that also is pretty tedious task, then I 'd say it was still pretty doable and easy! I hope this hasn't been changed since I played, just update the dish keeping an eye so there is decent amount of servings left for the night and you'll be fine ;)

Same! You know the game is good when you open it just to check out what is this and 9+ hours later you still need more tuna and cannot leave YET! :D
