I’m still in the building stages of my first layout, but I specifically made enough room to put lots of action-accessories on it. As a kid, my uncle had a large layout with a large number post war accessories… and they were my favorite parts of the layout. I will be piling on accessories as a small tribute to his work and love of the hobby.

That large flat head screw on the side of the side dump car is for adjustment. Loosening it may help you free up those gears.

I have been in the hobby for over 10 years and I have never seen or heard of these cars before. I've been to York train show. I've been to the Denver TCA show and I still have never heard these mentioned. I am surprised really. Those look like really cool cars and I think it can be expanded off of with more road names and different commodities.

Thanks for the heads up about Williams having brand new ones in stock. Might pick one up! I definitely think Lionel could easily make an updated versions and variations of these cars with Bluetooth. I love animated/operating and interactive elements in my layout and would love more. Unfortunately I think Lionel has their focus somewhere else these days.

Can you imagine VisionLine doing stuff besides sounds and smoke? These features with their Bluetooth control and the high levels of detail… could really bring the spirit of their heritage into the modern age!
