Allura seems to resemble a sphinx if anything else. She has a rabbit accomplice. Reminds me of Snowball from Secret Life of Pets playing the role of Little Sergei. I think Allura is a Starlight Ridge specific creature and not a reincarnated version of Opaline.

I haven't kept up with MYM, just know whats been going on with KZbin clips, but I feel like the writers DID want to explore more with the world and Opaline's character. But was cut short because it being a streaming show with limited episodes and not enough time to explain everything. Honestly, though, G5 should of been set in its own world with a separate timeline to G4 because it was pretty upsetting to see in the movie that Twilight and the gang worked so hard in bringing all of Equestria together and then in the future, not even the ponies liked each other.

Allura's first appearance was a really memorable moment for me. I was, of course, expecting a villain of some kind to make an appearance, but I didn't expect that villain to be a flying purple tiger with mind control powers, epic hair, and an evil bunny sidekick! It was so random it made me laugh out loud.

Having been at that panel myself (and I agree 100% that Elley-Ray’s Opaline was preferable), I clicked this as soon as screenshots of Allura started doing the rounds. For what it’s worth, when writing about this later on to others, I wrote that she described early Opaline as a “white tiger”, but I won’t commit to that being her exact words, being written up after the fact and possibly victim to memory game shenanigans.

I also don't remember the panel being AS attended as the VA panel the prior year with Andrea Libman and Aneeli Heed. So there'd be a smaller sample size.

I never thought of Opaline as perishing in the tree. In fact, at the end of the Tell Your Tale episode "The Rise and Fall", she says as she's being pulled into the tree, "This isn't over!", implying she will return at some point. Btw, congrats on 100k subs. :)

I actually like Allura, so I don't see the issue, better than the 50 millionth pony villain Opaline, I mean we've had other creatures as villains like Discord the Draconaquis (correct my spelling if necessary), there was also Turek, and I still need to catch up but I'm sure there were many other creature villains that weren't ponies, so understand it's a nice change of pace for villain design

Most likely, they did originally make Opaline to be some sort of big cat, but scrapped the idea and then brought it back later when thinking of other villains to add... and funnily enough, "Opaline" is a very similar name to rarity's cat "Opal". That name was definitely created for a feline. Not sure why they changed their minds. Honestly everything in g5 is so rushed that I wouldn't be surprised if they had planned far into the show to have it be a feline, only for someone to tell them "actually no, we want an alicorn and you have 2 days to change it". Kind of would explain why Opaline's character is uhmm... terrible. If it's true as someone else said- that she was originally a white tiger- then she must have gone through several changes before getting to Allura's state.

As Opaline was encased in the tree at the end of MYM, I’ve seen other MLP rebiewers imply that, unlike when Tirek, Chrysalis & Cozy Glow being turned into stone, Opaline could possibly still be alive inside that tree! Does this mean then that Alura is the equivalent of the creatures in Avatar, and Opaline has used her magic to transfer her conscience into this new body?! Me too. G4 had lots of talking animals. The yak springs to mind and the cat in the movie but some stop after season 2 or 3 as cannon. So I totally disagree here. I'm thinking she could be better than Opaline depending what they do with her.

cant say for sure from what you saw because wasn't there BUT from being at cons and knowing how the VA's are I 100% believe it. I recall myself years ago (before episode 100) lee tokar hanging out with the staff at our dead dog party (party after cleaning up the con) and asking everyone who was thier favorite pet he went on to say how wise and in depth he thought gummy was which made us all laugh and then episode 100 hit and bam it became clear. the VA's love the fans and will drop hints all day without saying what will happen its our job to get those drops and react.

I suspect that the character design is being recycled (don't know if the wings were part of the original design) but this is otherwise an entirely new character. Allura might be based on the Aq Bar (or Ak Bar), the heraldic symbol for the republic of Tartarstan--a winged snow leopard.

I found something out what really shocked me. When G5 came out, a lot of people wondered why the ponies only had one cutie mark. Since they had 2 in G4 and before. I recently noticed that this isn't entirely true. Because in the 3D animated short series "Hello Pinkie Pie" the G4 ponies only have their cutie mark on one side! 😱 I know! This is shocking! 😅🤣😂❤

Feel hasbro is re blending generation 1 mlp with Katrina with g5 mlp alura,as sorta of a reminisce of 40 years of these cartoon horses coming up on April 2024,since April 1984 with firefly's adventure started these ponies from pretty to little ponies,and August 2023 would be the patent trademark that made mlp,so Hasbro wants us go back in time with them to appreciate these cartoon horses as they created them for us,why would they have scenes of g1 mlp- g4 fim from the g5 movie,and this series,especially in make your mark episode briddlewood stock,where every generation from1-5 is shown,with minty,blue Belle,and snuffles as the g1 dreamland ponies,and sunny saying they started it all,but minty be depressed about not being as noticeable as later generations like Rubie jubilee,and electric blue who seem to represent current styles of pegasi like in fim,and make your mark,plus when hitch's grand mare figgy make mareitime Bay seem like 1970-80's,,Miami by saying its a beach town,almost like earth pones are old school,and pegasi are new school as styles of ponies,and even g5 seashell makes unicorns like misty seem old almost like misty is a older fan that just got her tattoo,and seashell is a bright new future with her shing tatoo,like sorta a reversal of the diamond tiara,and the cmc's in fim arguing about who gets flank tattoos,and seashell be the cmc's,and misty being science,lab,glory through Izzy as a recreationist pony wanted a laser tag arena,and peach fizz through pipp would become a g6 pony influencer,and social media junkie,and Misty's descendants would create alot more drinks as tea,and create a brand like the apples. did in fim with apples,oranges,cherries,pears,and popcorn,and the haven's, star scout's,and posey bloom descendants would become truly wealthy creating all these foods,and drinks then another crystal castle will be built in generation 6 so Hasbro can create more ponies as friends for us fans,and some of us could have another rainbow crystal castle for our kids,or their kids,wonder if hasbro will create a mlp theme park,like leggo has done with leggos,and would hasbro put it next to the sphere in Las Vegas,then Hollywood,California becomes Hollywood,nevada,and Hasbro builds a mlp world in then desert since Las Vegas has everything. else to be a part of the theme park as long as mlp keeps digging up money for hasbro,since pipp's hooves keep getting more shiny gold,and Izzy keeps dressing up ponies for more friendship parties,wait till if there is a chapter 7 Izzy will really make the aurora cons as Crystal aurora cons a descendant of flurryheart as violet frost/ comet seem to be descendants of starlight/ sunburst from fim,these are just ideas how I see hasbro going forward with these ponies, we each can have our own version if hasbro keeps creating mlp whether its a book,movie,or tv series but it seems these ponies will keep trotting even if we became granny smith,or elder flower .

See? Opaline was a cat all along. And y'all thought this theory was crazy. To be honest, I wasn't thinking "this isn't possible because Opaline died". I was thinking "this isn't possible because G5 died". But oh well, if they continue this beyond just the Pony Life shorts, and if I can be bothered to watch it, I guess I'll see what dollar store Kipo is gonna get up to. 0:30 To be fair, there were some non-ungulates like this that could talk in G4, like the chimera and that giant frog. The "only ungulates can talk" thing was Lauren Faust's original idea, but the crew didn't really stick with it after she left.

Come on, is it too much to ask for just one of the original villains to come back or for the villain to be actually threatening in the show not just weird unexpressive childish brats.

Wasn't the show cancelled? It would have been better to NOT introduce a new villain if they have no plan on continuing the show. I hate that companies do this.

Nobody said that G5 is 100% cancelled. Besides new leaks say that new chapters of 3D series can be started to produce next (2024) summer

@@AlexandraPlotnikova1 yeah I don't buy it. Seriously they said the same thing about Skylanders. They shut down the website. They cancelled the show. The games products were taken off shelves. I'm not gonna huff the copium.

You know i find it interesting how so many want G5 to end, despite both MYM and TYT just recently coming to the end of their first seasons. Many didn't like it when G4 haters judged mlp based off of the first season alone, so why are ya'll doing the exact same thing now for G5? The show has been improving slowly, so instead of sending harassment to the poor animators and writer, how about trying to give REAL constructive criticism. Also stop being rude to those who enjoy G5, it wasn't it okay in the past and it's not okay now.
