Misty is easily the highlight of the show so far, and her redemption arc - while predictable - is the most believable aspect we’ve gotten in this gen up until now. hopefully, we get to see a more outgoing and adventurous side to her in the next 2 chapters, and even learn more about her full backstory

OBJECTION! The only pony who ever really looked down on Blank Flanks is Spoiled Rich. Diamond Tiara took up that philosophy because her mother told her ponies without marks are beneath them. Silver Spoon took up the support of Diamond's philosophy but never really bought into it. Like Misty, Silver was playing the part of loyal servant because she was afraid to confront Diamond and loose her only friend. Diamond Tiara was so good at manipulation she was able to convince three fillies that getting a mark was everything in this world and when they got it they were just as lost and confused as they were without one. Nopony other than the females of the Rich family ever saw marks as being a status symbol other than a natural development into adulthood.

The reformation is fine, but i hate her cutie mark and the way she got it. I still have no idea what cutie marks are supposed to be now. Giving her a cutie mark when we don't even know what that is anymore really cheapens her desire for it and us being happy for her getting it. Imagine being a new viewer who has never seen g4, you won't have a clue why not having a cutie mark at her age is embarrassing.

I love Misty but the fact that she takes two wildly different paths obliterates the argument that Tell Your Tale and Make Your Mark are canon to the same universe. In MYM she stays behind and convinces Opaline of her loyalty as a double agent for the good guys.. we think. But TYT saw Misty cast off her necklace and cut all ties with Opaline. It's so confusing, because they are STILL trying to tie these shows together. last Thursday we got the Bridalwoodstock episode for TYT and Misty was not with the Mane5 group! /)_-

@@SilverSpoonRiche there's no continuity problem, she got rid of the necklace and did express wanting to leave but she stayed anyway because it's all she knows, and she still wanted her cutie mark badly enough that she still stayed. To me it makes 100% sense because I have gone through this. Also I'm sorry that you'd gone through that situation, I assumed you hadn't because for me the getting rid of the necklace and wanting to leave but staying is usually something ppl who've never been in that situation miss and don't understand it.

@@SilverSpoonRiche context for why It makes full sense to me on all she's done in both series still being at the same time, I was raised in a cult, my mom was the parent that reinforced it and controlled majority of what I was allowed to do and not do. My dad was the opposite but mom had the say in the situation. Back in 2019 I wanted to leave, but I was terrified and also internally conflicted I knew it was a fake life I'd been raised In and that it was hurting me but it was stuck in my head. Eventually I left officially in 2022, but even now despite ditching everything that I was raised on.... I struggle wanting to go back or wanting to go into similar situations because it's all I know and was programmed to love or emotionally think that I need it. I relate to Misty's story. Her constantly struggling knowing it's not a healthy situation but also wanting to stay for what to her sounds like good reasons. I had no real childhood because of the lies I was forced to follow. Forced to conform to. There's times I've cried even after leaving feeling like it was a mistake to leave even thou I know it was the best thing to do for my mental health. While MLP hasn't done in depth on how misty feels, what has been shown makes complete sense. At least to me. (Sorry for this being long)

@@mylife-23 You still don't get it. There are TWO Misties. There are two shows that are now running totally separate continuities and yet they try to tie the TYT and MYM together by redoing scenes from the other. It has nothing to do with how she was abused in the past. It is the fact that she is taking two separate paths at once to deal with that abusive figure. One Misty stays with Opaline, the other Misty ghosted her and cut all ties. That's a HUGE rift in continuity. It's not a plot hole, it's a canyon. It would be fine if they allowed them to be separate but the writers are still trying to tie these two Misties together. Misty has broken the timeline into two separate tangents. Separate, but not apart. It's insanity. At least IDW had the good sense to go full Alt Reality with Discord. Misty does not even exist in the comics. Opaline is only hinted at as a shadowy figure in the past. No Sparky either.
