Infection Mutation legs reminds me of Gyo by Junji Ito. I warn people that horror manga is not for everyone. The Anime doesn't do it justice at all. The Manga is a really screwy take on rapture or Humanity falling. Again it starts out weird and kinda stupid but the second arc is very very disturbing. But the legs/Assimilation remind me of Gyo. Gyo means Stench or foul Odor in Japanese.

If the initial stage is like rabies that explains why the other animals were very leery of the rabbit. From what I've read critters can usually smell when someone (or a fellow animal) is sick, and the animals of the MLP world are significantly smarter than animals of our world. A pity that Fluttershy didn't listen to her frequent animal house-guests. Though realistically even if she did it would only be a matter of time before there was an outbreak somewhere anyway. - The sona's mutation reminds me of Necromorphs at stage 5, but by stage 6 they make me think of the winged Zerglings from Starcraft 2 that can leap up cliffs.
