Dax McCarty's shot at 4:36 was so ambitious and he actually put it on frame. GOTY-quality strike, only to be saved by a waiting Gruenebaum. Such good play from both.

Absolute magic. Thierry Henry, in terms of actual product, is the greatest move the MLS has ever made. Beckham's effect has of course been monumental in terms of the recognition he has brought to the league, but Henry has actually given the league his best efforts on the field, and we are all the better for it. God bless you, Thierry Henry.

look...if you're a soccer fan, what you care about is having a home team and a group of players and coaching staff that put in effort to keep you engaged and entertained. What you care is about how much fun you have with your friends and family at the game. I believe my team delivers on all these factors and that's why I support them. Do I care about the name...honestly I'm not crazy about the name of my team either but to me, there's other factors that are much more important.

People may don't like his celebration style, it's like "Yeah, it's too easy for me to score a goal in MLS", but it's not. That doesn't mean he's not happy with his goal. This's just his style. cold finish and cold celebration. He loves Arsenal, but you can see many times he celebrates in a cold manner, what really makes rival team get mad :)).

Please. i use to score off corner kicks in high school all the time, it's funny too cause i was talking to the guy aside me about scoring off corner kicks a couple of minutes before the goal. Henry must have heard me and decided to get cocky ;)

Now that's an interesting discussion, where does the MLS rank in the world? The Big 5 in Europe, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico are all stronger than MLS, so IMO it's 9th at the highest. After that, it's hard to compare it to a league with little parity league like Portugal/Scotland/Greece--I doubt anyone in MLS could beat Benfica or Porto, but Chivas would avoid relegation. As the league becomes more lucrative, it will slowly attract better and more international players.

And DC. United games. But i'd agree, the North Pacific is a lot bigger of a MLS fanbase than the East...no denying that at all.

....yeah...it's certainly interesting...especially when you decide what determines "ranking"....is it overall budget?...viewers per game?....or "skill"?....how i determine it is a little unorthodox; i rank it based on "player-flow"....you see, a good player will develop or be discovered in portugual, greece, etc, but if he gets good, he leaves until able to play the big 4 (Serie A, EPL, Bun, Span), but USA is strange, as it seems to be the retirement home for the worlds best....

..."shit" is a little strong....as far as ability, it's probably the 7th or 8th strongest league in the world, out of probably 100 leagues (not shit)....the current form of MLS has only been around since 1996 (I played in what was called NASL before then). In comparison to the tops leagues in the world, it is less...compared to Liga Venezolana, it's excellent. It has it's moments of brilliance, although there is a noticable difference when you switch to, say, the EPL...
