If you haven't watched Megalo Box yet, go watch it now on Netflix and Funimation it's an amazing anime with a wonderful story and superb music. There are so many good boxing fight scenes in this anime, but we decided to go with Joe's first professional fight against Shark Samejima to allow Chad to discuss his backstory as a professional fighter. With that being said, as always, THANK YOU so much for the support, make sure to share this video with your friends, share in different anime communities, and let us know which fight scene you want us to breakdown next!

I'm happy to see you guys covering Megalobox. It's such a good anime. In a world of mechanically enhanced boxers that aren't, mostly, as skilled as past fighters I love the dynamic of a fighter bringing the skill back to the sport without using the 'gear'. Such a good story and you guys did a great job of explaining the concepts and moves used in the Joe vs Shark fight.
@ScenicFights3 жыл бұрын
It's such a great fighter's journey. Gearless Joe just wants to find out how good he really is as a fighter, his true skill. He's from the slums and never had that opportunity to prove his worth. I think a lot of people can relate to the idea of just proving to yourself on a public stage that you're worth as much as you believe you are despite other's opinions.

speaking of boxing, I know it’s not anime related but idk if anyone has mentioned Mike Tyson’s fight scene in Ip Man 3. At the beginning the way Mike approaches Donnie with the sway-like boxing footwork (idk what it’s officially called sorry I’m uneducated Reee) is just so terrifying. I know it’s not really a traditional “fighting scene” because you have Donnie Yin doing Wing Chung so it’s kinda hard to analyze the whole scene but I think his way to adapt the fight is interesting too.

You've been here long enough to know we do more than just anime! Great request. Mike Tyson vs Donnie Yen is a really fun fight scene with much to discuss.

@@ScenicFights yeah I know I’m saying that just because this is an anime related episode so I don’t wanna come off strange or anything lol. That’s great! Looking forward to your content, anime or not!

Megalo Box is a cool show. The show does a good job of showing the technique and realism of boxing.

Great video as always, guys. Could you breakdown one of the fights from The Raid: Redemption someday? It's an awesome movie with some of my favorite hand-to-hand combat scenes + knife fights.

Mental training is so key. High nerves, fear, excitement always there. Learning how to use it. Dancing helps find your rhythm. Plus breathing. Feet feeling like they were stuff in mud. Megalo boxing good anime.

100% agree with this comment. The biggest enemy for most people is themselves. Like what Rocky said to Adonis while looking into the mirror: "You see this guy staring back at you? That's your toughest opponent. I believe that's true in the ring and I think that's true in life."

also it's very obvious that this version of joe was very inspired by the late mexican boxer Salvador Sanchez.

That's a really great connection between Gearless Joe and Salvador Sanchez. We can def see the possible inspiration in design and boxing.

Another great video, Scenic Fights! Love these videos and breakdowns, always love seeing these two guys nerd out about both their expertise and films + anime. Chad mentions aggressive defence here, and even mentions Mayweather as an example. Whats his take on the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight? Many people ragged on the aggressive defense in that fight, making the winning decision highly controversial. Keep doing what you do, guys! I pray that your videos get more traction... i don't ever want these videos to end!
