@mrknarf44385 жыл бұрын
mattikus Yeah, especially with proper form and speed push-ups. 55 push-ups would be extraordinarily impressive, whereas 35 squats is doable.
@Sujiceel5 жыл бұрын
that has gotta be proper form as well, not just the numbers
@alialtinel29605 жыл бұрын
Mr Knarf yeah 35 squats is actually easy.55 pushups on the other hand seems unimaginable with chest touching the ground and with a reasonable pace.
@brandonclarke45374 жыл бұрын
.......standard is number of push ups in 2 minutes. The army pt test for someone 17-21 years old the minimum is 42 push ups in 2 minutes. To max the test, 71 is required. To be a competitive fighter, you should be able to do at least 100 pushups and sit ups as well as 100 squats in my opinion

Rope skipping is a learned skill. Make sure you do NOT use it as a cardio exercise when you begin! This is absolutely one of the exercises you want to be practicing before you go into a gym. Once you have a certain level of proficiency, you can start adding tricks and use it as a cardio workout. Glad to see that hammered in the video, but here it is again in the comments just in case you missed it.

Never really tried to jump rope before, Usually replace it with a hybrid plyo squat thrust burpee for maximum leg activation with ballistic movement. Great for takedown shots. Eh, I don't believe this. The gym I go to didn't mind that I was completely out of shape when I started a little over a year ago, I was 260 ish. Because I said "should I do some workouts at my house before joining" and the owner looked right at me kind of serious, yet friendly and said "why do workouts to get in shape before coming to a place where you're going to get in shape, just jump into it man. No shame in weight, we don't judge, just do your best". I started the next day, no one judged or laughed at me. Here I am a year and ehh 3 months later, down to 165 eating a TON better and only drinking water, working out on my own, jogging and gym(muay thai, bjj, and boxing, weights). Just by jumping straight into it. So on this subject, I disagree with you Shane, no offense. Anyone overweight wanting to join any sort of gym, I say go for it and I'm more than happy for you to tell me how it goes! Good luck everyone starting their new journeys, and those that are furthering theirs!
@sullyb235116 жыл бұрын
You and your coach do have a point, but if I only trained at the gym/dojo, I wouldn't have made the gains that I have made thus far. Martial arts begins in the training room, what ever you would call it, and continues beyond its walls.

The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. [ding] Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, start.

Start with doing then every other day. Do each stretch twice (on each side if it's per limb) for 30 seconds. Push yourself an extra degree each time, but don't rock or pull any muscles when stretching. Make sure you warm up properly before doing any of these stretches (squats, side lunges, mountain climbers, etc.)!
