I've been getting a lot of people asking for a ground and pound tutorial, so here is the first of many. There is a lot to know about striking an opponent on the ground but this vide is a great starting point. Many great fighters have made there career of the there ability to use the Ground and Pound, GNP is definitely one of the most offensive aspects of MMA. Be sure to master it.
Also I have been getting a lot on inquiries about the all strike devices, Below is the link to were I bought it.
www.questtraining.com
Lastly be sure to checkout my knee slide tutorial, it goes hand in hand with ground and pound attacks.

Tristar Gym That sounds awesome! I would also like to request a breakdown of how to use the jab effectively, all the tristar fighters have utilized this very effectively a breakdown of that would be great, especially how you use it to beat people to the punch as that's what you seem to do so well. Many thanks form the UK

Hey Firas, first let me say love your vids, they help a ton. I was wondering if you could make more ground and pound vids dealing with conceptual procedures for controlling positions and managingyour attacks... very similar to GSP. I'm also a big fan of your guard pulling vids. As always thank you for the time and effort you put into these techniques videos.

you're content is great. It's cool how you have a variety of content that appeals to everyone. It really helps appeal to a diverse group of people who are looking to improve various aspects of their game. Do you plan on covering anything on takedown defense? Or maybe ways to transition into a stand up position? I've always been fasinated with Jose Aldo's ability to keep it standing.

Thank you for these videos, Mr. Zahabi. I was wondering if you could post a ground and pound video that addresses the high guard or rubber guard, including the basic concepts of posture while using the can-opener as a hub to strike. I remember you had a great instructional before, but I cannot seem to find it. Thanks. And I am grateful for all of your instructional videos.

Thanks Coach! Outstanding in every regard. I do have a question about another video I remember seeing on the sight. You broke down a fight to illustrate several interesting points, however the ones that I wanted to come back to I can not find. The topic in question was breaking through a high or rubber guard, not by pulling back but by driving in and forward. Can anyone point me to the correct video?Thanks for your time!V/rJohn

@NightmareSTD

Firas, would it ever be a good idea for the man on top to go to a kneeling pass from the top? In MMA you cant be upkicked if you are kneeling, plus it offers more control over your opponent

How much would ground and pound (or mma in general) change if it was bare-knuckles? I'm thinking the fist is a precision instrument, so GnP with nice wraps is one thing... Generally, in MMA or Muay Thai, we train to "go through the target", to really load up properly and create that muscle extension "whip snap" return -- but then, it's the shot we don't see that often causes the KO. As a doorman, I'll just keep wearing my nice leather gloves.

When you bring both feet in, could he not get a double anklepick or is there some defence to it?
@CoachZahabi
@CoachZahabi 9 жыл бұрын
Yes just simply keep kick your feet up one at a time. Kick up towards the ceiling like I show I. The video. In the worst case scenario if you do get swept just grab his knees and close your guard around his legs so he can't get on top of you and finish the sweep. From there you can get back up or work a leg lock. Hope that helps. F

Saad Awad already used it, vs Will brooks 2. Sometimes, Gegard used it(vs Sokoudjou) De la riva ankle control(in order to catch triangle choke or tripod sweep)+ up kick, heel kick combo is well-suited technique
@MegadethMiller
@MegadethMiller 9 жыл бұрын
Although this is not mma, I'm a white belt in Jiu Jitsu and used the De la riva on a blue belt in class and had success despite only learning the technique from a book. I'd say if it is easy for a beginner to pull of against a more experienced opponent it would likely work in MMA due to it's simplicity and effectiveness.
