was horrific to see that being done to kauai. the times i have visited there it felt like the most beautiful loving place on earth. i cried when i left. to think that these huge companies are violating such a place is vile. i hope they keep up the fight and find a way to engage all the people who love kauai, even if they don't live there. i wonder what has happened since this was made in 2014.

rev A) You are confusing hybridizing with genetically modified food. They are two separate and distinct things, they are NOT the same thing. For thousands of years hybridized food has not been cross-bred with a built in a lab gene that is a pesticide. GMO food has built-in pesticides in it that automatically kill bugs. This is the same poison that the human body takes in as well if it eats a GMO. Didn't you watch this video? B) More research has been done on the non-safety of GMOs than the safety. That's why GMOs are banned in a lot of places around the globe. C) What do you mean "biological labeled items" - D) People have gotten on just fine for thousands of years farming without pesticides or GMOs, and 1/3 of the planet still doesn't have enough food to eat. With or without GMOs, people are still starving. The problem is not that there's not enough food to eat, there is enough organic, non-pesticide laden food to eat. The problem is subsidies, politics, corruption and greed. Farmers of GMO crops in India are committing suicide at epidemic rates because of GMO companies like Monsanto who have a monopoly on the market and who kill crops with their product because their GMO seeds and Roundup Ready fertilizer and pesticide kills the soil after only a few seasons. GMOs have also been scientifically proven again and again in peer reviewed studies to have as much as 40-60% less nutrients than organic food. The less nutrient dense the diet is, the more likely the human immune system suffers/is more likely to get sick or create disease in the body. GMOs are completely destructive to the earth, ecology, human health and sustainability. Where do you get your information from about GMOs, the back of a GMO-laden cereal box? PS- the cafeteria at Monsanto only serves organic food. The Royal Family only eats organic food grown in their own gardens. The First Family Obama only eats organic food grown in their garden and yet they appointed one of the former bigwigs at Monsanto to be the head of the Department of Agriculture. Many of the elites in power who make money off of GMOs will on record not personally eat or touch GMOs with a ten foot pole. What do they know that they aren't telling you? What does that tell you about the safety of GMOs?

" plants that will pollinate in nature naturally, even if its us humans putting the pollen from one plant to the other is not the same as taking a gene from an artic fish and putting it in a tomato so the tomato can be frozen and transported half way across the planet.

I know that if you have a full time job in a totally unrelated field, it´s hard to do a proper research. What does he know about DNA editing? about statistics, peer reviewed journals or cochrane research? Does he have access to peer-reviewed journals? does he know how to critically evaluate the statistics applied in these studies? or he simply googled some stuff from naturalnews.com? What have I done? I am doing science, finishing my PhD in Neuroscience. I am trying to statistically and objectively determine reality. day after day. Is it enough to understand a bit better the "research" on GMO? don´t I have a bit more knowledge that allows me to understand who is telling the truth here? I don´t punch pads all day long. I would never make a video on "the risks of armbars". And if I do, please don´t believe me, because I don´t have a fucking black belt in BJJ. For the same reason, don´t believe anyone that talks about GMO without a PhD in biomedical research. Do you think it is easy? it´s fucking DNA editing, you need 5 years of study (all day study) to know what the hell they are talking about. Remember: there are only 2 types of information you have: the ones you get yourself and the ones you get from others. If you cannot get this information yourself, you better choose verrry carefully from whom you get them. And if he is someone (MMA figher) who also cannot get the infos himself, and he has to rely on someone else, and so on, well: there are high chances that someone in this process lied or get it very wrong. So, you want to have a 1st level information? start your academic career on GMO research, you cannot? get 2nd hand information by going to PubMed. is it too hard for you, because you are not a scientist on the field? go to sciencebasedmedicine.org for a 3rd degree of info (they analyze papers for you). You think that public scientists are corrupted and lie to you, so this is all useless? well, why don't you apply the same skepticism to all other info you find around you?

Do you realize that this is exactly the problem? you don´t know the answer of any of these questions, nevertheless you trust his words! I don´t know his background, where he gets his information, thus I don´t trust him. I know he is a fighter, therefore he probably does not have a PhD in agro-technology or biology. This is enough for me to prefer the opinion of scientists that work in the field. And they strongly disagree with him.

GMO in itself is not bad, there are ways to use GMO to create better, healthier, stronger crops. But it's possible to also be used to create shitty, unhealthy products too. What they need is more transparency and testing and safety verifications placed on GMO to prove to people that the product is healthy, as well as to not subject experimentation areas like Kauai to pesticide/chemical pollution and to clean up their experimental waste, byproducts, and messes properly. But it is possible for GMO to be used to create healthy, quality produce that can feed more people. Don't get dragged into either "side" without looking deeply into the facts.

i believe that there is a lot of food to feed the world, but when you have subsidized crops and control of food prices by big economic interests you get this kind of propaganda that presents the use of this gmo products as the solution to world hunger. the transformation to a better society starts with destroying this crazy shitstem we live in, by jailing the ceo of monsanto for example. other ceo's should go to jail to like bp and the list goes on for crimes against humanity.
