Thanks a lot, Greg! I have injured my left hand practicing this etude a couple of months ago. Will pick it up again now, trying out your tips and strategies! 🙏

Chopin did not have large hands, but in his day some pianos had narrower keys than today's norm. See at 32:04 the following video : kzbin.info/www/bejne/mH7RnKSXrJh2b8k This may explain the large stretches found in some of his works.

Yes, good point. But, guess he had pivot on 3rd using wrist swing like Greg suggest. I know someone has rubber fingers, and can use 4th as pivot. That's not my hand. 😂

Thanks a lot Greg for yet another interesting video. I wonder, how many pieces of Chopin that you've uploaded were "easy" for you and which were your "worst" in terms of difficulty for you? By easy I mean pieces that didn't take you more than a day to practice and perform for us in your videos (So they are supposedly easy to sightread). Because, I imagine that your project would be impossible if each etude needs several weeks-months of studying it (plalying many times the different measures with separate hands etc).

Many etudes I have played as a student. But all the etudes needed to be practiced. In general, none of the works were possible to be prepared in just one day because I also needed to make an analysis. But there were works which were ready after a week, some after few weeks and some after months or even years hahahaha

I have a smaller hand and so my left hand has to jump across the notes, but I feel that this helps me to accentuate on the middle finger which I think is essential because the melody of this piece to my mind is not always on the right hand. Some are on the left and if I rest the middle finger always, i feel to miss to produce to emphasize this kind of back beat or the momentum which particularly is the natural "Do". Please advise Mr. Gregor if I'm on the right track.
