I agree with NYR. Like mike and Jed are also right to some extent because mic work does matter some but not as extensively as they want us to think. They aren’t mutually exclusive. Bad mic work wont hurt you if you as a fighter are good enough and or entertaining enough, but if you have good mic, it work will help. Belals terrible call outs wouldn’t matter if people didn’t find him boring and cringey(i dont agree) regardless of said call outs.

Yo doggies love this trio! Joaquin def blowing it calling for Connor but im surprised Mike n jed couldn’t understand rics point. Thought it was a good point and a good debate from an intelligent group. Also felt the two points aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive. Appreciate all the content! 👊

Mike and Jed circlejerk everytime they get together. Mike wanted so hard to make this narrative and its just backfiring. No one even remembers the JDM callout because it was a boring. People will talk about Buckley because he at least tries to entertain inside and outside his fights. Watching Ric put Mike in his place was hilarious

Rick way off on this one. If you have the perfect 1-2 realistic names ahead of you in the division that you know are free you absolutely have like a 50% chance of being able to make your own booking. Also, the Buckley call out of McGregor is nowhere on the mma media sites. It really didn’t get that much attention.
@aim6613
@aim6613 9 күн бұрын
So let's put in perspective if the call out is -perfect -1 to 2 names realistically -happen to be free then after those requirements you still might have a 50% percent chance of it being booked? Seems like a post fight call out, more often than not, is not going to coming through...exactly what Ric was alluding to.

The mic call outs only work if you’re in a space where you have won the fans with your skill and performances. If someone like Diego Lopes who won the crowd vs Evloev and on his next wins after UFC300 starts going wild and calling out top 5 guys like Volk, Yair, Ortega, etc people would be interested

omg can you shut up about the callouts after repeating yourselves five times? Did you listen to the rest of the callback? The crowd groaned but then Buckley doubled down and made it funny and the crowd responded positively. It was clearly just an attraction getting callout and not a serious one. It was still dumb in terms of it being realistic, but OK we get it move on. Both things can be true. Doesn't have to be "no it's this' "noooooooooo it's this" "nooo you midsunderstand" "noooo you misunderstand". I'm cringing harder than after a Buckley callout.

What the h... is this ridiculous argument made by Jed M. and Mike H. regarding the importance of the immediate callout in the octagon after a win? And what's that nonsensical example of Belal M.? His bad callouts have absolutely nothing but nothing to do with them? The UFC just doesn't like his fighting style and fear he could keep the belt for a while without allowing the company to cash out on the PPV. Maybe there's also some political views he stood for that got on Dana White's nerves. The callout in the octagon is part of the show, nothing more. Gee, I've rarely seen two of the three co-hosts of the show be so wrong about something. At the beginning, I thought they were pranking NewYorkRic. Thank God he was there, though the other two were so convinced that he couldn't make them budge in the slightest.

Mike's idea that Belal should have fought Chimaev rather than done what he's done, is absolutely ridiculous. Belal is literally number 1 contender the way he's done it. Without having had to fight a Covington, Usman or Chimaev. He's got to number 1 contender fighting 5-12 in the rankings guys he knows he can beat.
@mepp7573
@mepp7573 10 күн бұрын
@@luckyspurs You can give Belal credit for what he's done, but he still hasn't fought for the title. Number one contender doesn't mean anything 100%, we know this. Beneil, unlike Belal, has an entertaining fight style, but his call outs were even worse. "I'll fight 10 more guys if I have to." Never got a shot. Call out a realistic name, it can't hurt.
