This is the part of the fight business that interests me the most... Media and performance arts is kinda what I do nowadays and it's hard to think of an organisation that does it better than Endeavour/Zuffa outfits. I've learned so much from them and how they use the current media landscape that I've really grown to admire what they've managed to achieve. If I can do 1/10th of what they've done (in the space I'm interested in), I'll die a satisfied and very surprised man.

In a just slightly different dimension, MMA got banned in the 90's, the UFC folded, and mixed martial arts doesn't even really exist as a thing anymore... But the ol' South kept it going for the whole of the USA and the world, holding it afloat in the only place it was allowed until it was legalized in all 50 states like it is today. I think that the main event was at risk because of the very tough stance of UK on Russian athletes (aka Volkov). They did not let Russian tennis players come to Wimbledon, if the main event was cancelled maybe Dana felt like the card was going to be too weak

Haven't checked the replies so unsure whether I am repeating myself or not. I believe with UFC London 22, the reason for the concerns were the UK home office unwilling to grant VISAs to the majority of the UFC production team. I am sure that info came from the fight disciples podcast but I am pretty adamant that's what was reported. And Russia and Volkov didn't help but I don't think it threatened the entire event, sure Marcin Tybura was going to be the substitute or maybe volkov substituted him and was promoted to the main event
