Hello Barry, thank you for your very detailed presentation and test. You convinced me so much that I bought the MME H-Shifter and the FlyOff in black 14 days ago. I am completely thrilled with the quality and function. The product meets my expectations exactly. Since I prefer rally and historic cars in general, the combination of H-shift and sequential mode was the primary purchase decision. The change of function is really very well solved. Of course, the H-shift feeling is not 100% real, but it is still very mechanical and valuable. I ride 100% with VR and both are very important to me. I also use the Push & Pull Shifter WRC from Simline. I have used the H-shifter and FlyOff hardware from Fanatec for 4 years. You can't compare the quality and function with MME - it's a completely different world (clearly also price-wise). I also had static problems with the shifter from time to time and most recently the sequential function also broke down (almost at the same time the FlyOff also broke down). Fanatec support has not reacted for over 3 weeks despite enquiries....That's why I have now bought the MME hardware (4 pieces of real Avon slicks cost the same and burn on the racetrack...). Thanks for your great work for the world out there! Best regards from Tyrol Nik

I think this would be the first high end dual shifter on the market (unfortunately Heusinkveld shelved their project). Hard to tell if the bang for the buck is worth it, but people who got infuriated with Fanatec's CSS issues would be happy to spend a bit more and jump into this for getting a reliable kit that looks and feels good, and has a tool-less way of switching modes.

Might have to pick one up. Just got a Simagic sequential to try out and would love to find an h pattern shifter to get that last piece of Fanatec gear off of my rig 😂
@Leynad7782 жыл бұрын
I've the Frex and according to this video the Frex seems rather better for less money if you don't need the sequential function. The VNM seems similar for a fraction of the price. The BDH seems much better, but you can't buy it and the Simvertex is a mechanical alternative that might need some tweaks. I guess we see a Simagic h-pattern shifter rather sooner than later as well.
@CorgiTheCorgi2 жыл бұрын
From a mechanical engineer’s perspective, this shifter mechanically is just identical to Fanatec but decently with beefy quality. Since it’s only a gated shifter, you will get th same shift feeling as fanatec (VNM in the same manner) so definitely not worth 750 euro. I’ll suggest wait for something else or just go all the way to prosim if you really care about driving a manual in sim.

This is a gated shifter just like Fanatec and VNM, H pattern is mechanically identical but with beefy metals. How they do sequential converting is definitely creative. Just like Barry mentioned in 44:40, you will not get engaging feelings like shifting a real car. Unless you like to pay beefy Fanatec for extra 500 euros

@@CorgiTheCorgi And also doesn't come with a mount by standard, so need to either pay another 40€ or have an aluminum profile rig ready to go. For me it'd end up being a 320€ shifter just to get it at all usable... And it's not by any means the only example of them nickle and diming the customer... Plus, and I know this is a tiny sample size, I've had two friends who bought the V1.5 and they both broke within a month (inconsistent activation when used, random activation when not used). Not statistically significant of course. All that said, I'll commend them for the CSL DD. It's insanely well priced, and you can get very affordable rims for it too, so credit where credit's due.
@CorgiTheCorgi2 жыл бұрын
@@jubuttib This is why I end up with Simucube, don't why to be Fanatec's money maker. CSL DD seems like a bargain but I have never tried it in person so can't really make common on the product. But so far, I don't really enjoy any Fanatec product I have (Porsche replica rim and shifter).

@@CorgiTheCorgi I have the frex, and thats what it for me , th8a and the fanatec shifters leave a lot to be desired. and well pro sim is out of the question, the frex was the winner after barry's review. i have been happy with it.. feels like my miata, and s2k did.. shockingly similar.
